Obama's military contempt: The outrageous treatment of Clint Lorance
The Washington Times ^ | October 14, 2013 | Allen West

WASHINGTON, October 14, 2013 – If the fact that the Obama Administration has blocked aging veterans from visiting the World War II memorial and denied death gratuity benefits for fallen warriors doesn’t seem to indicate contempt for our military, how about this most recent story?

Army First Lieutenant Clint Lorance, a 28-year-old combat leader in the 82d Airborne Division from Celeste, Texas was recently found guilty of two counts of murder in Afghanistan and sentenced to 20 years in Ft. Leavenworth.

The story of First Lieutenant Lorance has not been covered by a single major media source.

anip

n little more than a year, First Lieutenant Lorance was tried and sentenced to prison. Swift justice to be sure, but why then did it take four years to try and convict Nidal Malik Hasan, who fatally shot 13 and wounded more than 30 during his 2009 rampage at Ft Hood Texas?

The irony of the dilemma currently facing our troops, those who have volunteered to protect and defend our freedoms, is appalling. Shall they fight and kill the enemy but then risk imprisonment because of insidious rules by lawyers?

The contempt that Osama Obama has for the United States Armed Forces has always been well understood in this country from the beginning. So well understood,in fact, that it doesn’t even require discussion just as the fact that the sun rises in the east doesn’t require mention or discussion. That contempt is one of the many reasons why the likes of Chrissy Matthews feels that tingle and it’s one of many reasons why Freepers, and many others, despise him.

This conviction of 1LT Lorance and these rules of engagement are clear messages to our troops that their president cares not whit about them.

He is a despicable human being.

Dear Lord Jesus, we pray that you protect our troops from their own president and his chain of minions. Amen.

Twenty years? Wow. They shouldn’t be there if they won’t let them kill the enemy. These ROE are ridiculous.

I trust West’s research on this, so 20 years is outrageous for what is AT WORST a misidentification by a young lieutenant. And I don’t think it was a misidentification. The facts seem clear that those were enemy spotters.

Our courts have archives full of murderers — obvious murderers — given far less than 20 years.

And this was on a battlefield while on patrol. It’s ridiculous, obscene, a stain on the military’s honor.

I couldn’t agree more, my FRiend.

There’s much wrong with the high ranks when our military leaders in the field are sentenced to prison for protecting their troops.

I can’t help but believe this had much to do with kowtowing to the corrupt Karsai, in fact the ones killed may have been related to him as well as being fighters for the Taliban.

[In little more than a year, First Lieutenant Lorance was tried and sentenced to prison. . .why then did it take four years to try and convict Nidal Malik Hasan, who fatally shot 13 and wounded more than 30 during his 2009 rampage at Ft Hood Texas?]

Hasan had real lawyers. Lorance’s counsel was likely some second lieutenant six months out of law school.

I have no idea why we are even there if we are going to treat our military like this. Makes no sense.

need to contact the admin about the keywords for this. Veterans and the military ping lists should get this and the keywords won’t coincide with this abomination.

I don’t recall even hearing about this before. Allen West knows of what he speaks, and this is an outrage!

Can you imagine what might have happened in WWII if our troops were forced to operate under the “Rules of Engagement?”
