Twenty years? Wow. They shouldn’t be there if they won’t let them kill the enemy. These ROE are ridiculous.
I trust West’s research on this, so 20 years is outrageous for what is AT WORST a misidentification by a young lieutenant. And I don’t think it was a misidentification. The facts seem clear that those were enemy spotters.
Our courts have archives full of murderers — obvious murderers — given far less than 20 years.
And this was on a battlefield while on patrol. It’s ridiculous, obscene, a stain on the military’s honor.
