Methinks the BBC doth protest too much.
Why do you say that?
I kinda think Hitler would approve of a government which would consciously let children with cancer be denied treatment.
Nazis would mean something different to the average Russian than to the average American. Nazis tried to conquer Russian territory. We know them more for their infamous Holocaust.
Valerie Jarrett is most certainly a Nazi.
Well, I’m not the BBC and I’m offended by this comment. It’s a bit rich considering that the Soviet Union was allied with Nazi Germany.
Yet another example of how, nowadays, the Nazis are used to smear any opponent or recipient of criticism. Just call ‘em Nazis rather than making an argument.
The BBC immediately resorts to name calling ("Stalinist" author...), and conflates Russian approval of Hitler before WWII as Russian approval now, which is ludicrous. (Stalin didn't have much choice but to agree to a non aggression pact with Hitler considering his resources.) BBC pretends Russia is unchanged in 65 years, when the truth is Russians have learned their lessons well.
No, Stalin quite eagerly entered into the alliance with Nazi Germany. The quid pro quo was the joint invasion of Poland and a free hand for the Soviets in the Baltics. Stalin looked at the pact as a big win for the Soviet Union.
The Soviet Union was not allied with Germany, they agreed to a treaty of non aggression and never functioned as allies. Said treaty lasted 22 months, during which both nations imposed Socialist conquest on their neighbors.
The gift of the Balkans was bait Hitler intended to retrieve from the start, and did so.
Stalin was played.
You’re playing word games. It was a defacto alliance.
>>>Its a bit rich considering that the Soviet Union was allied with Nazi Germany.
Bingo. And also considering that embedded in the 1938 Agreement was the infamous “Secret Protocol” not made public until after the war in which Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia divided up eastern Europe into their respective “spheres of influence.” Many in the U.S. today still don’t know about it, nor do they know that after Nazi Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, Soviet Russia invaded Poland about three weeks later.
You’re right in saying that Stalin got played. He was looking to play Hitler, but Hitler was faster.
Rather they are played by the BBC and most all of the media with few exceptions.
This BBC crapola is one of the best examples of demonizing the truth by trying to get the audience to dislike the past affiliations of the messengers rather than evaluating the factualness of the message.
"How did the Germans get the Sudetenland?" asked anchor Dmitry Kiselev. "Under the pretext of defending human rights,"How did the Soviet Union get half of Poland, Russian a-hole? And not give it back after the war?
They barking up the wrong tree. This administration, and the one before it are not Nazis. That’s ridiculous.
This administration is purely Fascist.
So Russia’s new fascist government has “Hate TV.” That’s no surprise.
