How an average English girl became the ‘White Widow’

When Samantha Laithwaite’s husband blew up a London subway, she played the grieving victim. Then she became a killer.
She grew up middle-class in suburban Buckinghamshire, England, and was considered an average girl in every way. Her father, Allen, was a former British Army soldier-turned-lorry driver; her mother, Christine, a homemaker. She has one older brother, Allen, and friends recall that as early as junior high, Samantha Laithwaite was a pretty and popular girl. When her parents broke up in 1994, she took it hard but seemingly no harder than most of her friends whose parents had divorced. She wasn’t particularly ambitious or studious, but she was a good girl who was shy around boys, considered by classmates to be exceptionally warm and decent.
Today, she is known as the White Widow, wanted in connection with last week’s attack on the Westgate Mall in Kenya.

I agree with this. Some find ways to cope, but the emotional damage is very DEEEEP in children of divorce. Better to be born to a single parent than it is for a kid to go through their parent's divorce. I am also curious as to the type of grammar school she attended.
She had to have been one squirrely messed up child to marry a Muslim to begin with. Just like someone else’s momma we all know about.....

I don’t know about that. If you’re born to a single parent, which means mother, you’ll probably have not much at all in the way of a father in your life\, no relatives on his side. Your siblings will be your half-siblings only. You weren’t created with any kind of commitment or solid foundation in mind at all, even one that failed later.
I say this as a child of divorce - a particularly hellish one. Better my parents were together for a while than for my father never to have been there at all.
It has very little to due with the parents divorce. Certain kids crave structure of a spiritual nature. When these kids have no religion in their own home, they seek it elsewhere. Sounds like her life was completely devoid of religion before she got into Islam. If she was from a strong religious home, she would have been able to withstand the adversity of her parents divorce, without becoming a terrorist.
Sorry to say it, but her family was asleep at the switch when she was 14 and “reading about Islam”. That is when someone should have intervened. This will happen more and more, as the family structure is destroyed, and mainstream religions that don’t murder people like Judaism and Christianity are marginalized in society, and families stop following them, cruelly leaving kids to fend for themselves, spiritually.

Bingo. Britain's "post-Christian" culture is nothing more than a vacuum, into which Islam is flowing. This girl bought the "sales pitch", probably because she and her family were all spiritually adrift. For all that is wrong with it, Islam does provide a structure that many people are drawn to and ultimately accept. It's a basic, tribal "religion" and sadly, more and more western people are suited to basic, tribal lives. The fact that Islam extends into most parts of peoples' lives just makes it more powerful - so few people these days are equipped to think for themselves. Dark, dark days ahead.
Just wait until this new fad of gays “having” children and those messed up kids are grown.

Completely agree.
When you consider how Islam is structured, it’s easy to see how soo many people that are searching for absolutes can fall into this cult.
As Christianity as been removed from society it has not removed the desire for truth. Western liberals have systematically ridiculed Christianity from consideration for those that are seeking the structure and answers that religion provides.
Buddhism provides truth for some, but when it comes to structure and absolutes, it is more like trying to understand “Quantum Physics”. “Spooky action at a distance”.
As much as “Relativism” has become the foundation for liberal belief, it is unsatisfying for some of the thoughtful among them. The politically incorrect acceptance of Christianity has opened the door to the acceptance of Islam, especially in England.
Islam is a Cult.
