JERUSALEM Israels prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, moved quickly to block even tentative steps by Iran and the United States to ease tensions and move toward negotiations to end the nuclear crisis, signaling what is likely to be a sustained campaign by Israel to head off any deal.
Mr. Netanyahus office dismissed as media spin a flurry of statements by Irans new president, Hassan Rouhani, about the goals of his nations nuclear program and his willingness to engage in diplomacy regarding it. His remarks were made amid news that Mr. Obama had reached out to Mr. Rouhani with a private letter, and renewed discussion in Washington of negotiations that could lift sanctions against Iran.
There is no need to be fooled by the words, said a lengthy statement issued late Thursday in response to Mr. Rouhanis interview this week with NBC News. The test is not in what Rouhani says, but in the deeds of the Iranian regime, which continues to advance its nuclear program with vigor while Rouhani is being interviewed.
Mr. Netanyahu, who has described Mr. Rouhani as a wolf in sheeps clothing, has stepped up his longstanding campaign against Iranian nuclear development in recent days, and plans to make it the focus of his Sept. 30 meeting with President Obama in Washington and his upcoming speech to the United Nations General Assembly.

Bibi knows something and it could be that Iran is getting close to having a nuke.
Saddam built 51 palaces while his sanctions were in force.
Yup. He thinks he has more flexibility now that he doesn’t have to face reelection and can ignore the congress and the constitution with impunity. Praying that we the people through our elected representatives disavow him of those treasonous thoughts.
Question for all.
Japan has peaceful nuclear power, how many centrifuges
does Japan have?
Obama is Al Quaida.
What people seem unable to get through their thick skulls is that Al Quaida has been run from Iran, and in cooperation between Sunnis and Shiites, since almost forever. Not only that, but we can prove it. We pretty close can prove that both Obama and the mullahs were in on 9.11.2001.
Israel could probably do itself no greater favor than to shuck off the ever more fickle sugar daddy of this mortal coil. US and other Christians who wanted to help Israel could do it privately, and the whole situation would glorify God a lot more, which glorification is the whole engine of divine redemption.
Netanyahu is witnessing a strategic disaster. Obama’s botched Syrian policy has allowed Assad’s “ally” Iran to maintain its Syrian bases for its mobile short range ballistic missiles. Israel cannot attack Iran’s nuclear facilities without suffering a devastating counterattack. The only way Iran will be stopped is if Obama decides to initiate a multi phased sustained military attack. It is highly doubtful Obama will ever seek such approval from Congress because he has absolutely no intention to start a war. Iran will gets its weapons and Israel will have to live with the terrifying peace of mutually assured destruction.
Bebe, like everybody else, sees weakness and he’s moving for what he can get. God love him.
Living in the Old Testament as they still do, they are overlooking a powerful supernatural weapon that is ready to be used when the will and resources are there. The Christian gospel. To the Islamic countries, especially the rabid extremists. Evangelists there often have to risk their lives and being imprisoned and tortured, but they still have a surprising effect. At least in its rabid extremist form, Islam may SEEM powerful but inside it, it really sucks with all the rage. The gospel offers an alternative to rage. Israel would be backing evangelists to its Muslim foes if it was willing to get over its own allergic attitude to Christianity.
Actually, currently Japan has no nuclear power. All plants are offline, although hopefully some will be allowed to go back online.
I think this sums it up perfectly.
If there were actually some realistic prospect that mere talking might lead to Tehran's giving up its nuclear program, it might be worthwhile to talk. But there is not.
The only thing that might be accomplished by such a maneuver is that Iran could string out the process--placing an Israeli strike upon indefinite hold--while completing the realization of its nuclear ambitions.
And hence the NYSlimes attempt to make him look like the bad guy with: Mr. Netanyahu, who has described Mr. Rouhani as a wolf in sheeps clothing,...
Tom Lehrer said it well in a song from the 1960’s.
“The Lord’s my Shepherd says the song,
but just in case, I’d better get a bomb ..”
PS Given “Al-Tarqua” and “Kitman” being integral parts of Islam, can one depend on a Muslim’s word when it says it is converting?
Whatever gave you that idea? :-)
Bibi’s already said that Israel won’t play Czechoslovakia.
Thanks Brad from Tennessee.

Well if God really wants them to get and use bombs they should, but the thing that chiefly gives such cynicism a foothold is the feeble exercise of faith in modern Judaism and Christianity.
I’d make a wild guess that the unpublished story is, a few years ago Iranian counterintelligence misled Israel into thinking the Iranian nuclear bomb project was much closer to success than it was. But the war between Iran and Israel has been going on continually for decades, and it probably won’t be much longer before Iran makes direct and indirect attacks on US, Latin American, and European countries.
