It might be the most obvious form of redistribution of wealth, that redistribution occurring from young to old and is socialism.
Along with Obamacare, the House should be voting to defund this and Medicare (socialism also)

I mean, this is bad politics. Congress should pass individual stopgap spending bills to fund the military, VA, State Department, and other legitimate functions of government - and pass them one at a time in separate bills. Do not defund ObamaCare until all legitimate non-ObamaCare functions are funded at the desired level. Then, once it’s a question of shutting down just frivolous nonsense that is outside the scope of the Enumerated Powers, that is the time to face down Obama. If he wants to shut down HHS, that will get a big yawn from 80% of the country and 100% of productive members of society.

This was the right fight, and I’m surprised that the House actually picked it up. Do I think we’ll prevail? Not really. But we can’t expect our representatives to do THEIR jobs if we won’t do OUR jobs.
So pick up the phones, folks. Call your Rep if they voted to defund and say THANK YOU. Call your senators and ask them to DEFUND.

He can try anything he wants. Would he prevail? On this, probably not. Congress is pretty jealous of the purse strings.

Well, I’d probably be considered one. On this, though, I’m going to go along with the team.
I think it’s the right fight and so long as the gop wing of the uniparty continues that fight, I’ll support it. I’m not agreeing to swap spit with them, just supporting them when they do the very right thing and attempt to defund this obamanation.
We can’t expect these folks to do their job if we won’t do our job and support them when they do step a little out of their comfort zone and do the right thing.

If FREEPERS really cared about getting rid of Obamacare, they would have supported Michele Bachmann for President.
The GOP is great at conservative speech making.
Action never happens, government always gets bigger, the debt ceiling is extended higher and higher.
The GOPe leadership reads the opinion polls and they know speaking against Obamacare right now is good politics.
Real change and real action will not happen. Republicans and Democrats grow government and move us further to the left at different rates of speed.
George W. Bush: 2008 bailout, Medicare Part D, Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, the Patriot Act opening the door to NSA spying etc. etc. etc.
This is frighteningly unusual for the House. Maybe the best parts of Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are rubbing off on the rest of them?
I don’t know about that, the House is already the more Conservative part of congress by far.
Remember how they didn’t let that Farm Bill go through? The House has already voted against Obamacare in symbolic gestures.
The Senate passed immigration, the House tabled it.
