WWII vet, beaten by teens outside Eagles Lodge, dies [Spokane, WA]

WWII veteran Delbert Belton survived being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa only to be beaten and left for dead by two teens at the Eagles Lodge in Spokane on Wednesday evening.

Belton, 89, died from the injuries he suffered in the beating Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center. . .

"Shorty," as he was known by his friends at the Eagles Lodge, served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during WWII and was shot in the leg during the Battle of Okinawa. He went on to work at Kaiser Aluminum at the company's Trentwood plant for more than 30 years.

He loved playing pool, even though he claimed he was no good at it and had been a member of the Eagles Lodge for the last four months. In addition to playing pool he loved working on cars. . .

Spokane police are looking for two male suspects in the attack. They said the suspects are African Americans between 16 and 19 years old. . .

Well said. Not taking race into consideration is just putting one’s head into the sand. Statistics show that common sense says race is a consideration in crime, especially violent crime (murder, assault, rape). People use more judgement and discrimination in choosing a pair of shoes than they do in protecting themselves and their children from being victims of crime.

Or rather, many consciously or unconsciously do employ judgement, but won’t admit it even to themselves. They use judgement when deciding where to buy or rent a home, what the schools are like in the area, etc. Liberals employ this judgement as much as anyone-rich people, whether liberal or conservative, use it. You could say that’s a socioeconomic factor, and that’s partly true, but if that were all it was, there would be more than a handful of well-to-do, safe, secure all-black communities with good schools. Instead, most blacks who become successful-what’s the first thing they do when they leave the hood? Move into a “good” white neighborhood.

How does “poverty” (an extremely relative term in entitlement-era America) impel a 15 yo black male to rape an 80-something year old woman, murder her, and beat her husband so badly that he later dies in hospital? How does poverty explain the huge disparity between black-on-white rape, while white-on-black rape numbers are so low as to be statistically negligible? How did poverty explain the long hours of torture inflicted upon Channon Christian and Christopher Newsome and their slow, agonising deaths?

Yet which “rape cases” became national causes celebre? The Tawana Brawley case, the Duke lacrosse players case-both of which were false accusations, both immediately accepted as truth by the MSM and made into yet another piece of the narrative of white racism.

While the statistics of black-on-white rape, assault, and murder might as well not exist, judging from the fairy tale the MSM continues to tell.

I suspect Eric Holder will investigate the state of Washington to see what they did wrong in the appropriation of funds for midnight basketball or or other at risk youth programs. Also a separate investigation into the school for this choir boy, to see there was every any racial epitaphs hurled at this fine upstanding young man. Exactly. I call this the "respectable right". They espouse conservative policies on almost everything else, but have bought into the left's multi-cult and the lie that "diversity is our strength".

It's hard to blame them, after years of public indoctrination and both social and concrete penalties for straying from the faith. But at some part, grown people have to take responsibility for seeking and accepting the truth, whatever that truth may be, and refusing to be complicit in the lie.

When you get the stage that government officials are openly advocating for a race war, when celebrities and political race mongers call for “justice” (i.e. revenge) for the justifiable killing of thug Trayvon Martin, when the Justice Department is staffed by a man who refuses to enforce the law against the Black Panthers, when the President takes sides on every racial incident that occurs in the country, there should be no surprise that the amount of random black on white crime is escalating. It’s all part of the Alinsky-style anarchy that Obama is brining to America. Weaken America’s defences, tear down its borders, give amnesty to millions of illegals, bankrupt the nation through reckless spending, corruption and Obamacare and then incite a race war to keep the focus off the real agenda.
