They need to come up with $6,600 for their dad, uncle, husband and brother: 65-year-old Vincent Lopez.
All of us are here. Were all family, cousins and sisters and brothers. Were trying to do this by tomorrow. We have to do this by tomorrow at noon, said Diana Ramirez, Lopezs eldest daughter.
Thats because the family says North Sacramento Funeral Home, which has Mr. Lopezs body, wont start work until they have the money.
The funeral home is asking for $6,300, said Phyllis Rosa, Lopezs widowed wife.

The funeral home is asking for $6,300,...
Okay, I’m confused. Is this legit?
That’s what I am asking.
All the children, cousins nieces nephews can not come up with six thousands some dollars Sure.
The veterens admin gives something don’t they?
If he has a Life Ins Policy why are they panhandling for cash?
If he is dead there must be a death cert somewhere.
The money is there but, until we have proof of the death certificate, they cannot release any money, Rosa said.
Something fishy here?
I personally know of several families right here in NM that couldn’t come up with it. Generations who have always lived paycheck to paycheck, I imagine that especially today’s economy it’s not that uncommon.
I am confused as to why they are begging for money if the life insurance will cover the bill?
When my husband died, I tried to pay the bill with a credit card. They refused, said to just wait until the insurance paid. There was no charge for the cemetery as it was a National Cemetery that is available to all honorable veterans.
I think the family is getting scammed by the funeral home. Grief-stricken relatives don’t always make the best decisions and are easy prey. Somebody who “knows something” needs to sit down with an itemized list of what the funeral home is charging, determine what is required and what the family is being told they have to do, and get the costs down to what the family can manage. For example ... embalming costs could be eliminated - not legally required in any state. Casket costs (are they being sold the most expensive model?), printing programs, viewing, moving, flowers .... you can reduce and/or eliminate some of these costs depending on preferences. If the family wants a big funeral with all the trimmings, they’re going to get a big bill.
That's what I'm thinking. The funeral home doesn't do death certificates, the county clerk of records does. I had to track down my fathers death certificate for the VA so he could be buried at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. That along with the DD214 and we had no problems.
??... won't do a payment plan?
I think you might have hit on part of it.
If it sounds fishy, send them Soros’s email address.
I don’t have any military background, but I did find this:

They need to contact their nearest American Legion Post.
An American Flag to drape the coffin...
Five bucks, 20 Hispanics swarming the car, and I'm good to go.
Yes something is fishy. I know when my father died we used his life insurance money to bury him. Since we needed the Death Certificate what we did was to sign over the Life Insurance Certificate over to the funeral home and they in turn claim the money and that was it. I don’t understand why they couldn’t do that.
