EXCLUSIVE: RAND PAUL -- I'M 'THINKING ABOUT' RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT
Big Government ^ | 7/11/2013

Posted on 07/11/2013 4:12:12 PM PDT by markomalley

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Thursday that he is contemplating a run for president in 2016 and that he will likely make an announcement on a decision shortly after the 2014 midterm congressional elections.

“We’ve been thinking about it,” Paul said in a phone interview. “And we will continue to think about it probably until after the 2014 elections. I haven’t made a decision, it’s a big decision you know with regard to family and the extensive travel that’s involved with it. And then also just seeing where the country is going in the next year or two.”

According to a new Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey, Paul leads the pack of potential 2016 GOP candidates in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Paul’s 18 percent in the poll leads New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s 16 percent, 15 percent for former Vice Presidential candidate and House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), 14 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, 11 percent for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), 10 percent for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), 6 percent for former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, 2 percent for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and 1 percent for New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez.

Sorry about the last two posts, I misread it as Ron Paul. Still early morning here.

Front page news? Seriously? Like we couldn’t guess this?

I posted this three days ago. Somebody just threw a FP News tag on it...and it went to the top of the queue.

I have no confidence that a physician with a short legislative career has the administrative experience to be President.

Ideology does not trump competence. Running your mouth, even if you’re right, is not enough qualification.

Haven’t we learned our lesson?

Yep. And he will likely wind up like his dad with the same results over and over and over again.

The Paul bashing is really over the top here. Rand Paul is one of the most conservative Senators we have. The lying about Paul positions really disgusts me. He and Sara Palin seem to bring out the worst in some people. Both are great articulate conservatives, maybe that is what drives the so called conservative here crazy. I’ll bet they just loved W, as he trampled all over the constitution, ruined the economy and totally messed up the middle east.

11 percent for Jebbie = Victory! But do they know he appointed Judge Debra Nelson?

You’d be surprised how many uninformed Republican primary voters are convinced that Jebbie is the one because the “third Bush is the charm.” They never learn, of course. Jebbie’s supporters are too busy making money to focus on political details anyway.

I’ve always been fascinated with that question. Aside from a few requirements (dignitary, law enforcement, CiC), the President doesn’t DO much...let alone LEAD. If not as a role model, what else does he LEAD?

IMHO, what we need, are more ‘regular’ people; these ‘higher educated’/Ivy Leaguers can’t seem to read/comprehend the Constitution that gives them their authority.

When was the last time anyone has seen/heard/read the President whip out his pocket Constitution, roll through the bill in from of him and declare “Nope, don’t see the authority. VETO”. Hell, is was Bush who pushed bills through stating “*I* don’t believe it, but I’ll get the S.C. figure it out”? WHat kind of ‘leader’ is THAT?

utter crap the GOP never talks about social issues hardly and it’s about time they do because cowards and RINO’s have only helped to pass rule 26 from the communist rules of 1963.

No conservative would ever want the homosexual, agenda or giving morning after pill to little girls or even voting for amnesty or even letting little girls and boys take drugs.

Frigging liberaltarians can go and get their own platform and nomination process but us conservatives won;t bother voting for a liberal on social issues and yes family matters

yea like this family would vote for him

Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, Romney

Christie would fit right in (one of the few places he’d fit into)

Rubio would as well. And I think the media will try to shove another RINO down our throat.
