RUSH: 'QUITE TELLING' FOX DIDN'T WANT ME TO CRITICIZE IMMIGRATION REFORM
Big Journalism ^ | 7/3/2013 | TONY LEE

Posted on 07/03/2013 5:02:09 PM PDT by markomalley

Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said on Tuesday that it was "quite telling" that Fox News did not want him to talk at length about his opposition to comprehensive immigration reform during his appearance on Fox and Friends.

"Now I told the people at Fox that I wanted to talk about this today three or four times and they wouldn't do it," Limbaugh said on his show after his appearance. "They were not interested in bringing this subject up. I wanted to talk about this in relationship to the current state of the Republican party and they wouldn't do it."

Limbaugh said he "had to bring it up myself to whatever extent I did, and that by the way, is quite telling to me."

Limbaugh did indeed manage to get in some comments about immigration on the show, saying, "Republicans are sitting around twiddling their thumbs worried about immigration and whether the Hispanics like them or not and being skunked on issue after issue after issue."

The only medical care should be emergency or first aid sufficient enough to get them back home in their country

“...*Peals of laughter sounding from my keyboard*...”

How many of us have had to don the flame-retardant suit at one time or another, over the course of our days out here???

Hahah! It happens!

Here's the deal. I knew I was treading on dangerous ground when I ventured to say this on this thread but I thought I'd give it a try. Don't know if it was worth it.

The "automatic reward" is the part of the argument that I say is socialist becasue nobody wants these people to steal the "rewards" of government entitlements.

I said from the start that I think the borders should be secure. I also believe that if someone like Palin became who can speak to the American people like Reagan did, stood up and ran for President, I think alot of these people would flock to that person just like they did with Reagan.

As far a "calling people on this forum brown shirts", damn I've been called and seen a lot of others called a lot worse things than that on this forum. Kind of a double standard it seems to me. I've seen it before. When I don't tow the party line because of what I consider to be good reasons, I'm called a troll, an operative of the Left, and everything else in between. Shoot first and ask questions later.

Makes us look bad. I'm not saying everyone here is like that but sometimes on these kinds of threads with these kinds of issues that people feel so emotional about, sometimes it starts to look like a Hannity "Boiling Point" session rather than a reasoned and thoughtful debate.

And its not like I really meant to get in front of some kind of FR firing squad. That's what I meant by I wasn't sure if I should say anything. But I never see anything questioning the amnesty "party line" so to speak and I thought it might be helpful to inject another thoughtful point of view if for nothing else maybe to give some pause to reflect.

I believe that's what our county is all about - a place of refuge for any and all.

You should have added "... with a special preference for Mexican nations who enter the country illegally". You want all the other worthies from around the world to get to the end of line behind criminals from our adjoining country.

Continue to stick your head in the sandbank. And try to call Limbo and bring up the NBC issue, you will be hit with the panic button before you can blink an eye or say Rush.

Same with Hannity, they have been told NOT to touch this issue. Happy 4th. July!!!

“..Don’t know if it was worth it....”

Well, it’s a discussion forum, and opinions put forth can change minds, so of course it’s worth it.

“...I said from the start that I think the borders should be secure. Palin...just like they did with Reagan.”

OK, valid, maybe. I’ll concede that LEGAL immigrants might. We’re not talking about legal immigrants, though. We’re talking mainly about people who don’t give a flying rat’s ass about the same things you and I care about. YOU wouldn’t dance across the border into someone else’s country and demand free meds, free food, instant benefits, etc., and then also demand that they recognize your “right: to do so.

“..As far a “calling people on this forum brown shirts”, damn I’ve been called and seen a lot of others called a lot worse things than that on this forum. ..”

So have I. Doesn’t make it right. I believe in courtesy and decency right up to the point where they other stops deserving it. I’m saying don’t perpetuate it. Debate and discussion go NOWHERE the minute one side or the other starts with the “brown-shirt-and-worse” dialogue.

We can agree to disagree. We’re intelligent, rational human beings. Leave the baiting to the libs - it’s what they do.

“...And its not like I really meant to get in front of some kind of FR firing squad. ...”

Like anything else, when you put forth an opinion on an emotional issue, you’ve got to expect emotional reactions from some folks, then be ready to defend your opinion/position with facts. People aren’t seeing your viewpoint, is all, and they’re letting you know in no uncertain terms.

You yourself said that’s what makes this country great - to be able to disagree. Well, they’re disagreeing...and it comes in various flavors...we ALL got that at one time or another, brother. You sure as hell ain’t alone!!

Like I said to Lakeshark; We’ve ALL had to don the flame-retardant suit at one time or another.

Think of it this way...a little fire singeing the gluteous maximii makes a better man outta ya!!!

Carry on.

OK, what do you propose to do with the the many millions of illegals?

Arrest them and deport them.

You know, like the law instructs.

ROR and LOL. States or federal? I hope not federal, or now you're really asking for a police state. States - that's fine, but it's up to the feds to secure the border. States can and should do how the people of that state direct. However, the big cry seems to be about federal entitlements going to these people so your answer would seem to point to a massive federal poice effort (which wouldn't go away once it was created - bad for everyone).

However, it still makes sense to me to probably deport illegal aliens that are in prison (at least convicted ones).

Seems like our efforts are better spend securing the border but not immigration quotas and taking down the fascism (coercive collectivism - what's the difference?) this regime is trying to implement.

State and Federal enforcement. It can and has been done before. Your weak claims of a police state resulting are disproven by history.

I want existing legal immigration to continue, but all illegals deported, and no amnesty. You appear to want otherwise. Assuming your claims of being conservative-minded are valid, you have zero by way of strategic vision.

Game's over if Amnesty passes. Period.

Oh good. I had a weird feeling I was the only one who heard him capitulate on his radio show. Click! Done. No more Hamnesty or FOX. I was sick to my stomach just watching Meagan Kelly smiling announcing the election results so it wasn’t a huge stretch to turn em off permanently, other than the fact I had watched them since 2002 or so. Guess the FOX paycheck outweighed loyalty to the cause, huh Sean? Ailes says we’re pro amnesty and you just meekly go along. Sickening.

Uh, I don't think we've ever amassed a federal police force of the size it would take to deport 30 MILLION people. That's nuts man. There's gotta be better plans out there than that. I can see some discriminatory deportation of the kind I mentioned. I could also see requiring illegals to enroll in the process of legal immigration. But flat out deporting 30 million people is something that will never fly and you should be more concerned about the power you would be giving to fed to police such an effort.

It was just two days after the November 2012 election that Hannity announced his epiphany on the issue. It was patently obvious that he had been instructed about what side of the bread his butter was on!

>>What does the GOPe know that makes them so willing, even eager, to spit on the conservative base?<<

They believe that globalization is coming and the New World Order will control everything. They want a seat at the table and the United Nations will not tolerate people who support the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Amendments.

It amazes me that the truth of what globalisation means is right there, in easily understood language, last chapter of the Bible, and people just blithely rush to embrace it. “Strong delusion”, indeed.

Uh, I don't think we've ever amassed a federal police force of the size it would take to deport 30 MILLION people. That's nuts man.

Tell Dwight D. Eisenhauer he's nuts.

Overall, there were 1,078,168 apprehensions made in the first year of Operation Wetback

Citation: The entry for the rather unfortunately-named "Operation Wetback" in 1954. If they can apprehend that many in one year in 1954, how many do you think they can apprehend NOW -- with the advancements in technology -- and still use the SAME numbers of Federal police? Add in the States efforts, and I think in 5 years the problem is under control.

There is a concerted effort by the Democrats and even the Republicans to downplay, and even pooh-pooh and/or mock the idea. However, these numbers back in 1954 show that the deportation idea is quite attainable, and would not resort in any more of a police state than we presently have.

If I were not a Soros Plant -- and if I were concerned about a police state -- I'd probably be putting my energy towards removing NSA surveillance efforts, and not downplaying the eminently-possible idea of the enforcement of existing immigration laws, and the deportation of those lawbreakers.

And try to call Limbo and bring up the NBC issue,

For someone who doesn't listen to Rush, as clearly evidenced by your baseless attack on him in your referenced post, don't come back here telling me what I should do.....

Your ignorance of his daily outspoken criticism towards the amnesty bill pretty much disqualifies anything you may have to say about him and puts you in the category of all of the retards over at DU.........

OK, well, good research. It's still 30 million. Maybe. That would be quite an operation. Of course I would trust Eisenhower over Obama by an order of magnitude. The states - great let them go for it, even though it should be up to them how of if they do it.

The only wild card in your scenario, then, would be Obama, total demagogue that he is, to exploit this, as he is the quintessential expert in doing, as an opportunity to enlarge a massive federal police force which he's ITCHING to do. Even somebody like Bush would blithely "compassionate conservatively" create another bureaucracy for eternity to oversee the operation and the rest would be history. I don't know how you get around that.

Also, with stupid things like minimum wage in place, who's going to do the cheap labor that keeps our prices down when we boot all these people out of here? Those illegals are actually really helping us.
