Today Rubitsky is 82 years old. He spent a total of 40 years in active military service. He is currently a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans.
He and those who love him want to see this injustice righted.
Evelyn Smith, the widow of Gen. Smith, has written a notarized statement regarding her husbands support of Rubitsky: My husband told me that Sgt. David Rubitsky deserved to win the Congressional Medal a second time in Leyte, Philippines, for knocking out seven machine gun nests, killing nearly 200 or more Japanese soldiers.
As for Rubitsky, himself, he says his lobbying for the medal at this stage is simply a matter of principle.
Somehow I just KNEW HIS NAME WAS DAVID!...............
“Win?” that is an archaic term for the CMOH it was won in wars like the civil war Tom Custer got two but I think even by WW1 that term was being phased out for recipient or derivatives.
Impossible!
I’ve read that Jewish people are cowards and have never supported America, especially in military service right here on F.R.
Over-and-over.
(Yes, being saracastic, but wait and watch for these guys to show up here.)
And a good way of doing this is... ?
Dang good thing he had a copious stash of ammo in that bunker!
Cotton Hill only killed fity men.
One German responsible for 3/4ths of US deaths on Omaha Beach
How can Rubitsky be 82 years old. 1942 was 71 years ago. I would believe 92 years old.
I was enlisted into the 3rd Battalion 128th Infantry back in 1964. I knew two of the officers listed in the article, the Company Commander and the Battalion Commander and knew of the Chief of Staff who made the anti-Semetic remark. The Company and Battalion Commanders were fine officers and friends of my late Father.
While it is too late, I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. He is one of the reasons that the 32nd was so respected. In fact, the only entity to stop the 32nd was that God-Damned McNamara and the Johnson Administration...may they rot in hell!
Is it me or has anyone else never heard of someone lobbying for the Medal of Honor for themself? You see CMH winner on documentarys and shows and they tend to be humble people who downplay their actions. Generally people push for the recogntion on their behalf. This gentleman seems to be the polar opposite.
Buried this morning at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Unfortunately, there was at the time an anti-Semitic factor in the military. This is not because of mere ethnic prejudice (which anti-Semitism is not), but because of opposition to the coming Kingdom of G-d on earth. That's what all the "conspiracy" talk is about.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
..................
Rubitsky was in my father’s regiment, the 128th of the 32nd ID. My father joined the division as a replacement after the Buna campaign, but would have fought with Rubitsky on Leyte. He sounds like a good man to have next to you during a fight.
did he use an old jaw bone from an ass?
At the risk of unintentionally kicking up yet another sh*t storm, I have to ask another question; why did WND use the picture of an Australian soldier to head up the story? Look at the hat, the chevrons and the rifle - a Lee-Enfield if I’m not mistaken.
RIP.
Another WWII Jewish hero who experienced anti-Semitism and recognized so many years later he was proper: A portrait in valor: Tibor Rubin.
