Who cares about the republican party? I would abandon it in a second if they chose another RINO (e.g., Christie). Why are so many supporting something that will eliminate our country?

The “Republican Party” is only an illusion.

There is but one party: The Democrat-Republican Party.

Their differences in action and position (not rhetoric) are merely to propel a single agenda.

I would explain it but the NSA is monitoring. Stalin and Hitler recruited enemies as if they were friends to help gain their power. Then they were no longer useful. But since politicians don’t know history, it will be a surprise when ............

I saw it coming when George Bush and Carl Rove had this brilliant strategy in 2010 to appease liberals, and then liberal would like them more. No, all you’re doing is alienating your voter base. And while they were scratching their heads wondering why they got their asses kicked, they planned the same strategy for McCain for 2012.

It is because they are convinced that they must be moderates and not bi ker and argue with the Rats. Instead they think they will gain popularity by giving the Rats everything they want.

Because they are already jackasses. The good thing is, the Donkey party is so big, corrupt, and heterogeneous, it can’t possibly together for long.
Its left and extreme-left blocs will split, too.

Why Do Republicans Support Something That Will Eliminate Their Party?

Because the Republican party is complicit — or if it is not, then it is useless in the extreme — consider the following:

  1. When has the GOP pushed for wholesale reduction of FedGov agencies?
  2. When has the GOP pushed back on executive overstepping, such as ending the "War on Drugs"?
  3. What has the GOP been saying about the revelation of NSA's domestic spying?
  4. When was the last time they pushed for the repeal of GCA or NFA?
  5. When was the last time they pushed for the illegalization of abortion?
(They pushed of-course-I-support-abortion-for-rape-and-incest Romney, even as they added a "not even for incest or rape" to the official anti-abortion plank.)
  6. Accountability: What's become of Fast & Furious? What's become of Benghazi? What's been going on with the IRS political-targeting? What's likely going to happen with the gross overstepping of the NSA, violating the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments?
No, the GOP cannot have achieved failure so spectacular by means of mere incompetence: they are complicit.

The unprincipled corporate whores who sponsor RINOS are an embarrassment to conservatives too yaknow. They keep getting caught with their fingers in the public cookie jar, costing us elections, and giving conservatism a bad name. They wear the "party of the rich" banner proudly, when it in fact the Democrats who are the party of the extremely rich.

Worse yet, when the RINOS adopt halfway socialist ideas and they don't work, all Republicans wear the blame for the economic disaster of adopting Democrat policies. Shwarzenegger was a classic example of such, a glad handing backstabbing figurehead, a chump for the likes of Warren Buffet and Pete Wilson's claque of real estate crooks. They robbed us blind and handed us over to Jerry Brown.

Because the eGOP and the DNC are one in the same. They call each other “friend” and negotiate our rights away one by one. The eGOP takes on then the DNC takes one. It’s all the same power grab.

Republicans supporting legislation that not only is bad for America but is bad for republicans too?

That is not something new.

They have been doing this as long as I can remember and probably long before that.

The also seem to have difficulty seeing past next week when evaluating the consequences of legislation. Or maybe they don’t even try.

Much of America’s troubles (and the fortunes of the republican party) can be traced to the horrible Immigration Act of 1965, written by democrat congressman Emanuel Celler, sponsored in the senate by democrat Philip Hart, and vigorously supported by democrats, notably Ted Kennedy.

If you read the history and content of the bill you will see that it was essentially just another part of the LBJ era ‘feel good’ civil rights legislation that democrats pursued with the intent of gaining favor with minorities and turning them into a reliable democrat voting bloc.

Even though it was a democrat bill that heavily favored the fortunes of democrats, republicans supported it at a higher level than did democrats with 85% of Republicans voting for passage of the bill versus 74% of Democrats.

In the house 117 Republicans voted yes, 10 no, and 11 abstained. In total,

In the senate Republicans supported the bill with 24 voting yes, 3 voted no, and 1 abstained.
