My letter to the Boy Scouts of America

I have been involved to one degree or another with scouting my whole life. Either as a scout myself, a volunteer leader (including a Scout Master and on the local Scouting Committee on numerous occassions), or an annual doner. No more. For the reasons I cite, I can no longer support the organization either myself, or for my own grandsons.

So, this is a letter I sent to the Boy Scouts of America regarding their recent "vote," on accepting openly gay young men as scouts:

MY LETTER TO THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

May 24, 2013,

I was in Scouting as a youth. I have been a leader, including a Scout Master, and a member of our Scout Committee, serving as the Advancement chair on occassion. I have also donated to scouting my entire life.

As a result of your recent decision regarding openly gay youth being able to join scouting, I personally will not be giving another dime to the BSA.

I will also recommend that my children not enroll any of our grandsons into the organization...as much as it pains me, and as much as I regret the loss of this once great organization.

Part of Scouting is to be "morally straight." Those words have meaning. A gay life style is not "morally straight." Societal mores may change. But the truth does not...and you do not advance the truth by giving in to or accepting such behavior or inclinations and trying to call them "normal," or okay.

The homosexual community is now going to recruit 16-17 year old boys to become open members of the scouting organization. I do not want my 12-14 year old grandsons, or any other youth exposed to such individuals on campouts. Plain and simple. Not worth the risk.

If you think this will not be discussed, and that such kids will not promote that life-style through conversations at such events...you are deluding yourselves.

My church, the LDS Church, will continue with the scout program within its own congregations until and unless they accept adult leaders who are homosexual. That is what the Church has indicated is its line. The Church teaches that homosexuals can be members of the church as long as they are celebate in these desires. In other words, they can have urges, but if they resist temptation and rely on the atonementof Christ, then they can be members in good standing as much as a heterosexual who does not commit fornication or adultery.

While I can understand this, and agree with it spiritually when it comes to young people who are serious about trying to overcome this deviant lifestyle...for the reasons I just enumerated I cannot support it within the scouts. The Boy Scouts are a seperate, private organization apart from the church, whom seek my private support. I will no longer give it.

I simply cannot, and will not risk that set of circumstances on my own grandkids, or anyone else's if I can help it. And I can help it by not supporting either materially, monetarily, or with my time an organization that has decided to abdicate the moral high ground in order to retain large donations from organizations that have already embraced this homosexual agenda and its strawman "sexual orientation" argurment, or who would avoid adverse public relations pressure from the homosexual community. Make no mistake, those are precisely the issues in play here. As I said, the truth is the truth, and despite million dollar donations, or adverse publicity,"morally straight," means something. Something intrinsic that cannot and must not be auctioned off.

America is at the Crossroads of History, we cannot, and will not choose the right path if we abdicate eternal principles in order to avoid criticism by the liberal progressive elements in today's society who believe in amorality, and a moving set of societal mores. Our nation, our people, have been great historically precisely because we as a people, from our founding, embraced and upheld fundamental moral principal as enumerated to us through the Gosepl of Jesus Christ. Tolerant? yes. Abidating those pricniples to those who reject them? No.

God bless us as a people to return to our roots, and to elect individuals of high moral standing and courage who will hold those lines.

I'm beginning to suspect that these letters will be music to their ears. They want the conservatives out. By this time next year, females will be completely integrated into the BSA at every level, the membership rolls will surge making up for and exceeding the 400,000 projected loss. The the BSA will no longer be called the "BSA", it will probably be called the "Young Pioneers" or something.

I'm not saying that the we should stop writing letters in protest or stop quitting the BSA. But a defiant part of me thinks we should fight at the grassroots level and vigorously discriminate not only against gays but against the lying liberals that have done this. Make every single meeting and event an opportunity to tell boys about every sin that is common to man, and about how God calls some men to repentance and salvation and gives other men over to sin in self inflicted and recursive judgement. Don't just quit, but make them exterminate you as martyrs and scorch the earth in the process. Prophesy the truth and give the battle to God.

Whats sad is you would throw a sexually confused kid out of the scouts, who may have tried to hide his problem, when you might have made a positive influence in his life. Kids like this need serious **ADULT** spiritual, emotional, and psychological counseling. **BOYS** aged 12 to 18 should not be burdened with this task.

We don’t see normal folk having parades on how they have sex, wear shirts and have flags. Years ago they used to say it was their bedroom but then it went to civil unions, then marriage, then teach in schools, not just public schools but all sorts of schools, then TV, then adoption, then force others to pretend to accept their perversion.

If they wanted boy scouts then set their own up, but of course the real agenda is to get queer leaders taking boys into the woods and being around boys.

I, too, would give almost anything to not have to hear it.

Woke up from a nap thinking (since November, I wake up every morning thinking; it is a national nightmare) that the same thing has a\happened all over. In corporations, the military, etc, they all have to be sensitive to the gay agenda or the gays will take over the establishment, but, lo, not being satisfied, they take over anyway, and that in the case of the BSA and military, they must use legal and govo-political means, respectively.

I don’t wonder why they don’t just start their own. They don’t want a group, they want others to not have a group by ruining it.

And they have money and smarts and time to win the legal arguments.

Others, people of good will, are not ready nor interested in the spiritual battle that’s going on. they’re not interested in fighting tough, not wanting to face it, too busy leading nice and decent lives, and the more successful they are, the less time they have for this crap.

My thoughts go to suggesting something, anything. and that is never a good position, it suggests that I do something, and I had better figure out why I just don’t.

I have never been involved in BSA. Sociologically, I am the furthest away from it.

I do, however, recognize it as having been an institution vital to formation of boy to men. And I’d like to see some body fight this takeover by doing something to preserve the name of Eagle Scout. I started hearing, last year, screeches of oh, he’s gay, in response to the name “Boy Scout” and that’s where the future belongs.

Our legal system has allowed for this. there might be something that can be done, as people start facing it. Maybe not.

... and the TEC is dying. Average Sunday attendance, the number of baptisms/marriages continue to decline. This is what is happening with the BSA: Someone is funding them to a very large degree that wants homosexuals in the BSA and all your complaining will fall on their deaf ears and bank accounts.

70 My husband asked, and I don’t know, what is the organizational structure that allowed these turncoat, pro-homosexual leadership to rise up to the level of the executive council or whatever it was called that just made this decision? I don’t know the organizational structure of scouting, but would venture to guess this was NOT the majority opinion at the local scouting level. Can anyone answer that who understands the scouting leadership structure?

The professional scouters make up a small number of the voting delegates, i.e., the Chief Scout Executive and ~ 292 local council scout executives. The individual councils are represented at the annual business meeting with a range of 3-15 delegates, determined by the number of scouts in the council.

The National Executive Committee, ~23 members, are the officers of the National Executive Board, ~ 72 members. As with any oganization, the power to set the agenda lies with the executive committee/officers. The people who get recruited for these volunteers positions, are by and large, immensely successful business people who agree to donate to the BSA from their own pockets (just like FoS, Friends of Scouting, at the local council level) and get their companies to financially support BSA.

Basically what has happened is that a number of the men on the National Executive Committee are CEOs of Fortune 500 companies whose companies have totally bought into their Human Resources Departments support of all things homosexual. The BSA "suits" in Irving, TX, are addicted to the corporate largess.
