Yes, Mississippi got NOTHING after being hit in 2010 by a hard-hitting tornado-Yazoo County. Governor Haley Barbour had it all under control, but the Great Ob did not help with Fed funds. That even after other Liberal states were getting lots of assistance. The difference was stark.

With new advancements in construction materials and hydraulic cement to make things water-proof, I can’t help but wonder if we need more development in this area...especially after losing these children.
In Oklahoma? If they did that they would miss half their school days in April and May. Simply not practical - days with forecasts like today, 99.9% of the time, the school won't get hit. And usually schools are safer places than homes for kids to shelter.
Rescuer said they had to pull a car off a teacher. Under her were three children she was shielding from the storm.
I don’t want to sound mean but if the forecast predicted severe storm was heading there why send your children to school. Also don’t school’s have a underground deep shelter to have the children run to for protection from tornado? I mean how many times must this happen before they build better schools with deep underground shelters?

15 mins is plenty of time for most schools. From what I heard on fox the plan at this school was to go to a central hallway. Thats how we did it a long time ago. In this case the hallway appears to have collapsed.

I heard this is the 4th tornado to hit Moore in the last 15 years. Maybe they should look into some type of bunker system.
