Chilling new details emerged about the hell house where Ariel Castro allegedly held, and brutalized, his terrified captives....the girls were fed through holes in the doors, and occasionally taken out in disguises...to the garage, the Clevelan Plain Dealer reported. They were often bound with ropes or chains. Castro reportedly played a wicked game, pretending to leave -- then attack whomever tried to open the door he intentionally left unlocked.
Police defended their handling of the case. "I believe with the information we were given that we executed as best as we could, said Cleveland Commanding officer Thomas McCartney. The tactics we used I will not question...... I think the Cleveland division of police has done a very good job."

Good point about the census-—but the monster Ariel could have refused to give out info. And if the census taker asked the know-nothing neighbors——???????
Probably the welfare system knows a lot about who was living there.
Castro lived a decent lifestyle-—owned the home, had motorcycles, went clubbing....with no visible means of support. Got fired as a school bus driver.
Betcha he, his brothers (who live with the mother) use several identities to collect welfare, food stamps, get EITC refunds, probably UI, disability, and so on.
The neighborhood might not be hostile to them. Only to tbheir being caught.
Take a deep breath - or three - Liz.
I say let the brothers go. Why, who could expect those two to know that there were three captive women and 5 kids in that cavernous home. Anyone could spend 10 years there and not notice it.
So just notify the families when and where you are releasing them.(just so you can keep them informed of course) Let all three of em go if you want.
It would be the best outcome.
Good point also. We are left to wonder if he received substantial assistance. Food stamps? Direct payments? Did he get checks at the house or did he get money electronically? Did his brothers get checks? Was a case worker ever assigned to make contact with him to do an inspection of his home? Of course, all this assumes that he gave his true ID information. But even if he gave false ID, what does the case file on that name show? If there are additional case files on other false IDs, what is in THOSE files? Did someone inspect the addresses of those names?
Men like to brag about the women they have kidnapped and are holding prisoner for years? Do you really believe that?
Or do you believe that that is only something that "ethnics" like to do?
Knowing what we now know about the agencies, employees and inner workings of Cleveland govt-—does not appear that anyone there would have the brainpower to consider such questions.
As I posted earlier-—”The Original Amateur Hour” kinda sums it up.
from what the perp’s son said, the 2 uncles are useless drunkards.
ROTFL....drop em off and tell the neighbors that?
O-o-o-o-o......That's gonna hurt.
On O’Reilly tonight he asked if the brothers court appearance tomorrow involved a citizenship question. No one knew the answer.
Ha! The return of the acerbic Liz! Hi, girl.
I think we now know who was responsible for the flag swap on the front porch of that house.
Initial photos of Castro’s house clearly showed a Puerto Rico flag on display. Later the flag is replaced with an American flag.
Certainly with the house being the being the crime scene that it is, no one but police and detectives could have gotten on that porch to change that flag.
Hi (/sarc).
Kind if tiresome by now, that the taxpayers have to foot the bill for living expenses of kidnappers and bombers.
That makes them loyal Obama voters.
But Puerto Rico is a US possession----their flag does resemble a US flag.
Well, those mugs shots of the other two didn’t exactly spell out “Andy Hardy” to me. Perhaps they’re as innocent as the day is long but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all as guilty as hell. And it ain’t got nothing to do with their being Puerto Rican. As a NYer, I’ve lived with Puerto Ricans my whole life. Those women were interviewed after being free for, what? Less than 24 hours? They need to be interviewed over time; right now they could all be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. And that wasn’t an ethnic remark!
Yeah, Bostonians are said to be up in arms WRT the Tsarnaev family welfare haul. Tamarlan was riding around in a snazzy silver Mercedes and wearing designer clothes-—and had the time and money to buy pressure cookers and build bombs-—thanks to taxpayers——who ended up legless, maimed and wounded.
Who knows about braindead Cleveland?
On one of the news show this morning, a neighbor took a reporter on a tour of her house - which is a replica of the crime scene. Didn’t look too big to me - and the camera tends to enlarge space. Also, it’s what I would call a “railroad” design - no hallways, just one room leading into the next. They didn’t show the upstairs but the kitchen led directly to the cellar.
Yeah-—Geraldo hasn’t opened any doors for a l-o-o-o-n-g time....and he’s Puerto Rican, too.
