I was pretty ticked off when WTKK 96.9 switched from talk radio to a music format, but I didn’t set myself or anybody else on fire over it.

“hardliner Buddhist monks” - now there’s a phrase I never expected to see.

Islam whines while it creates new enemies.
No sympathy.

So far, no violence? No rapes? No beheadings? No honor killings, forced conversions? 969 is doing what the progressives tried to do to Chik fil a, what Cesar Chavez did to fruit growers.

No boo hoos here.

No more peaceful Buddhist sh!t...not when you are up against crazy Muslim killers who are already laying waste to Southern Thailand and driving out Buddhists there.

Mooslims as victims? Ha! Never fall that crap.

It was triggered by a series of rape attacks by Muslims against Buddhists.

Anti-Muslim sentiment has boiled over repeatedly since the ‘969’ campaign first emerged several months ago. In late March, rioters went on a three-day rampage in the central town of Meikhtila, burning down Muslims’ homes, businesses, and mosques. About 40 people were killed.

It's impossible that this is the full story. I'd have to bet that the part about the Muslims making the first move has been deliberately left out, not that it started when somebody poured himself a nice cup of tea, stared at a wall for a couple of hours, and decided it was time to rampage against Muslims via this "969 campaign".

Then again, one of the most devoutly Buddhist countries is Thailand. Always smiling (and usually picking their noses up to the third joint) but they are the absolutely the wrong people to mess with. The Burmese must have a similar personality.

“I don’t feel safe in Rangoon anymore. I don’t think Muslims are safe anywhere in this country right now. I would like to go live abroad, but my parents are too old to move, and I can’t leave them alone.”

Muslims are their own worst enemy. Eventually people’s eyes will open. You brought this upon yourself.
_______ OWN IT!

The Buddhists are are learning to play by the Muslims’ rules. The journalists who wrote this article even have their names blurred out on the newspaper website. The battle is joined.

Good for them! The Muslims have as a tenet of their religion to convert the infidel or kill them. They should be coming face to face with that themselves. Then maybe they’ll ‘update’ their belief system.

hardliner Buddhist monks

Three words I would have never thought to see.

I do agree with you, though, that these Muslims cause a lot of damage everywhere they live. But, when someone fights back, they begin whining. I believe that a few years ago (I think in Indonesia), a couple of schoolgirls were beheaded by people of the Muslim faith. So, people pushing back at this religion seems like self-defense to me.

Well, those who live by the sword, as they say.

I thought they didn’t call it Burma anymore?

"“hardliner Buddhist monks” - now there’s a phrase I never expected to see."

Consider the source: "Ko Moe Myint (not his real name) is a technician who lives in Naypyidaw, Burma’s capital. He is Muslim."
