Sen Paul is right. Only after American citizens wake up spiritually, will we wake up politically and economically.

But his example of passing a law preventing people from having kids before marriage misses the obvious.

Why not repeal laws that promote and encourage these welfare babies?

Make no mistake: You CAN legislate morality. The question is - whose morality?

For the last 40 years we've had a code of legal morals and ethics that are dead set on the destruction of the family and of America. And as a natual result - our economy is down the tubes.

Agreed.

But I also think we need a D.C. Cleansing as well...

A little study in backstep analysis by Sen Paul would accrue to his benefit...

He's right. In fact I think FReepers could use a spiritual cleansing as well. Too much of a screw everybody attitude around here when attempting to inspire hope doesn't cost a dime.

I will not stand by and watch this great country destroy itself under mediocre leadership that drifts from one crisis to the next, eroding our national will and purpose. We have come together here because the American people deserve better from those to whom they entrust our nation's highest offices, and we stand united -- we stand united in our resolve to do something about it.

A spiritual cleansing is exactly what we need.

Exclusive: Rand Paul Says Political Leaders Message Should Be To "Fix The Country's Economy Not To Fix The Country's Moral Nature."

In an exclusive interview with The Brody File, Senator Rand Paul says America should be led by moral and religious leaders but, “their overriding message is to fix the country's economy not to fix the country's moral nature." Paul also says that a winning candidate can be a social conservative, “but if that's the only issue you do estrange some people.”

The Brody File spent a couple days with Rand Paul and his family down in Kentucky. Rand Paul’s wife (Kelley Paul) sat for the interview as well at their home in Bowling Green Kentucky.

The national profile on him (including an interview with his wife) will air on The 700 Club Thursday. We are releasing some clips ahead of the interview. We will also release more clips on Thursday. Much of this material is NOT in the final 700 Club piece.

Also, watch our Brody File show this week where we devote the entire thirty minutes to our Rand Paul coverage. Watch here.

Senator Rand Paul (On whether social issues need to minimized within the GOP): “I think sort of the in-between is that it doesn't mean you can't elect or won't elect people who are socially conservative but if that's the only issue you do estrange some people but what I’m saying is that you need a candidate who does believe in your issues, who doesn’t try to be something they’re not but also recognizes that what brings the country together and what people are trying to figure out is how do I get my brother a job? How do I get my sister a job? How do I get the economy growing? It is important though that a country and a civilization have moral underpinnings but I think if it's only about that then I think you need to be finding who the next Billy Graham is and we need both."

Senator Rand Paul: "You want moral and religious people I think to be your leaders but their overriding message is to fix the country's economy not to fix the country's moral nature."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He's wrong. Paul - and every other pol needs to understand the fundamentals:
 It doesn't matter a damn thing what your economic ideals are - if you aren't on the right track morally - you aren't going to succeed economically either.
Reality tends to enforce “natural law”.
Take away the laws and policies that alleviate consequences for immoral behavior, and you’ll have less of that behavior.
Responsibility2nd:
The Eight Steps in the Evolution of Democracy (Professor
Alexander Tyler, 1787)
These eight steps were written in 1787 by Professor Alexander Tyler.
The United States was in the planning process of a young and fragile Democracy.
So, this Professor took a look at the past and tried to map out the evolution of a Democracy.
He determined a time line for these eight steps and an estimate of how long the process would take, 200 years.
* From bondage to spiritual faith;
* From spiritual faith to great courage;
* From courage to liberty;
* From liberty to abundance;
* From abundance to complacency;
* From complacency to apathy;
* From apathy to dependence;
* From dependence back into bondage.
He is right. We should start with government itself, and mainstream TV networks that promote degeneration which it has become.
Amen! The “sex culture” is fully alive and in ALL our faces, especially targeting our youth.
Thanks to billy, the youngsters do not see oral sex as sex.
Remember those wrist bands the young ones used to wear, which indicated “how far they went”?
Disgusting!
Morality is the main (if not only) reason for Laws and government. Without “Justice” a government is totally evil and dysfunctional. Justice is a Virtue. Virtues are a standard of “morality”. Virtue determined what is “good and evil” since the Nicomachean Ethics.
Socrates stated that the only reason for education is to teach Virtue. Justice is the Queen of Virtues-—that is ALL about morality!!!!
Cultural Marxists target Virtues-—destroy it. Machiavelli even stated that without Virtue, you can not have a Free Republic or an effective military.
That is why sodomy is forced into the military by the Satanist zero-—to destroy Virtue—promoting Vice will destroy the military-—they will become like the Nazi homosexual Brownshirts—Brutal immature, evil people will drive out, intimidate the “good”—people who won’t join in their orgies. And they use boys in those orgies-—like Sugar Keynes at Harvard (the darling of the Left who bragged about castrating boys in 3rd world countries and advised his elite friends at Harvard and other elite institutions where to find boys at Eton or whereever for their orgies. This is a sick mind which designed the economic system which collapsed England and is taught in all our universities probably all sodomites.
(Why the push to normalize anal sex in all books and movies/tv (Glee)—”shades of grey”-—and this intimidation of any company that doesn’t go along with their evil agenda-—so little boys will be corrupted by sick concepts that should never occur to them unless they are sexually abused. They want the control over the minds of your little boys-—like Jerry Brown has-—to normalize sodomy in our culture).
It really makes me mad that Lawmakers don’t even realize the Marxist thinking which states “you can’t legislate morality!” We DO IT ALL THE TIME with murder laws (from 10 Commandments).
We built Western CIvilization since Cicero—on ideas of Universal Truths (morality of Natural Law Theory).
FIXED NATURAL LAWS are part of our Constitution. Universal Truths are part of our Supreme Law of the land. The Marxist’s judges are removing God and removing morality from children=-—it is Cultural Marxism to sexualize young children to destroy morality concerning the sex act-—to destroy the culture. Releasing sex from morality-—which homosexual “marriage” does-—there is no Right and Wrong way to use the sex organ-—you remove Natural Laws, Rule of Law , and God.
We will collapse if “homosexual” marriage is normalized for children. We will be sick and warped-—our children who grow up and “see” this which shapes all their worldview-—and normalizes the behavior-—like the little warped boys in harems in Afghanistan.
Evil Marxists, sodomites-—like the Fr. Oko report explains-—they are Fascists/totalitarians/Marxists and they want your little boys to be warped, so they are easy prey when they turn 12. The age of consent will be lowered-—we will have Nero’s lifestyle normalized (he castrated a boy and “married” him). Sick warped people (homosexuals who “think” their “lifestyle” is “normal” are irrational and evil—they are immature-—fixated and addicted to base instincts—controlled by their lust—never Reason/Intellect.
You CANNOT legislate morality. You can legislate morally, however. As in character does matter and no one, I mean, NO ONE is above the law.
The reason the government can never become “moral” is that the bureaucracy - through and through - is leftist. There is no morality there.
You could have God himself elected president and the bureaucrats would never budge from their lefty agenda.
This is why the most important thing is to starve the “beast government” down to size. Which is why I only vote for those who will put the screws to government - in all its forms. We should only worry about being moral on a personal level - it is clear that a moral politician (which is an oxymoron) can ever reign in this monster we have all had a hand in creating.
Starve the beast - and if Rand Paul is for starving the FedGov, I’m for him.
“America needs a, “spiritual cleansing of the people” .
Will only happen after a national calamity that brings much death, hellfire and brimstone.
Well, I think there are moral issues that no law will be able to fix but there's no reason why a political leader can't also have some impact in moral issues that really the law may not be able to fix but maybe by me saying that the marriage unit, the marriage unit, the family unit is an important structure, it's been with us for thousands of years and we shouldn't give up on that."
Then why is he for homosexual marriage?
