The news media has been focused on the woes of the Republican Party. But Stanley Kurtz thinks it's Democrats who are more likely to tear themselves apart.
The often-bitter disputes within the GOP between Tea Party insurgents and the "Establishment" tend to be over how far and how fast to travel down a particular road. Among Democrats, there is sharp disagreement over which road to take.
Unions want the Keystone XL pipeline -- which has now been "under review" by the Obama administration for longer than it would have taken to build it -- because it means thousands of well-paying jobs. It's opposed by environmentalists such as California billionaire Tom Steyer, who threatened to run negative ads against a Democrat running for the Senate in Massachusetts if he didn't recant his support for Keystone.
"Our economy runs on fossil fuels, yet an ever-growing number of Democrats at the heart of Obama's base are literally convinced that the world is coming to an end because of it," Mr. Kurtz said. "This rapidly proliferating movement of Democratic voters has a near-religious determination to choke off the fuel that drives America's economic engine. Each side of the Democratic..."

Liberals exploded in outrage last week when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he wouldn't schedule a vote on a bill to reinstate the "assault weapons" ban, forcing him to back down.
Gun control is supported enthusiastically by liberals in wealthy urban neighborhoods, but by hardly anyone else. The "assault weapons" ban "couldn't get 40 votes" among the 55 Democrats in the Senate, Sen. Reid had said, in part because he knows gun ownership is rising fastest among women (23 percent say they're gun owners, up from 13 percent in 2005), and Democrats (40 percent, up from 32 percent in 2010)....

Possible that some Dems who have never been really comfortable about the camaraderie (and ultimate safety) they’ve enjoyed (or not) as a part of the all-inclusive team of victims (and raptors) in the party. Maybe they don’t wanna get mugged/murdered for nothing by one of their brethren because they happen to be white.
Most of the “reporters” are Democrat shills.
Communists Democrats not divided enough. The five entities that are destroying America are, communists democrats, King Obama and empire, the MSM, Hollywood, Blacks, and Hispanics. They will be destroyed by the same empire they have created.
As is surely, very plainly evident over the last twelve years, the attitude of, “If we don’t report it didn’t happen.” and “If we constantly harp on something it can influence an election.” has served the interests of the progressives in politics and the media very well.
Many Dims upset by Obama’s signing of a bill for protection of Monsanto using GM foods. Becoming a circular firing squad.
True - but the reason isnt that journalism is in the pocket of the Democrats but that the Democrats are in the pocket of the journalists. The reporters and their employers all belong to the same union - its called the Associated Press. When formed, the AP had a legitimate-sounding purpose - to conserve bandwidth in the transmission of news nationwide. But it also homogenized journalism. That gave journalism unity and power to pursue its own agenda - which is, naturally, to persuade the public of journalisms own virtue. Journalism pursues its agenda by zealously criticizing and second guessing the people who dont merely talk but who work to a bottom line and actually do stuff. And journalism promotes the political party which goes along and gets along with that - and smears politicians who do not.
Journalists have the prudence to avoid labeling themselves wise, since that would make them extremely vulnerable to charges of sophistry. But they use the term objectivity to exactly the same effect. It is impossible for a person to know that he - or someone he agrees with - is objective, just as it is impossible to know that his own opinion is wise. Only time will reveal that. Claiming otherwise is sophistry.
Some wise folks on FR have told me that the Dems no longer consider the R party to even be competition and that the internal purges (ala Stalin) have begun.
I’m not convinced of this, although I can see it happening if they take control of the House in 2014.
The assault weapons ban was a red herring. Never meant to go anywhere. But tossed out so Schumer could come in the back door with background checks which are really gun registration.
The mentally diseased RATS really, really want our guns.
Bring it.

I guess it brings back the old saying if a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it does it really fall?
The truth is it did fall, but the political answer in a large “democracy” is the tree still stands. The reverse is also true in a large “democracy” If everyone “hears” a tree fall in the forest then a tree is said to have fallen whether there be any tree on the ground or not.
You control the media with a uniform message of your choosing and you control everything. This is more or less what Obama has with respect to most of our ‘federation’.
Conditions may have to get bad enough for long enough that even the poor saps watching MSNBC will start to look elsewhere for facts.
This has been going on longer than twelve years. It goes back to Clinton.
Well its quite obvious that we need to take over a number of liberal news and media outlets.
