President Barack Obama promised a group of Jewish leaders that he would stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons but said he’s refraining from “extra chest-beating” as he pursues a diplomatic solution.
The hour-long meeting with some two dozen American Jewish leaders Thursday was closed to the press, but the Israeli daily Haaretz managed to nevertheless get comments from those who met with the president in advance of his upcoming trip to the Jewish state.
Israel and the United States share the same intelligence on Iran and therefore have a good understanding of how close the Islamic Republic is to having a functioning nuclear weapon, Obama told the leaders. Still, the allies are divided over where to draw the “red line” from which there is no choice but to attack Iran, Obama reportedly said.
Obama also reportedly quoted a Chinese saying attributed to military strategist Sun Tzu, according to Haaretz: “Build a golden bridge for your opponent to retreat upon.” …

If this country and freedom are to survive, we need to stop listening to what Obama says and watch what he does.
Always remember, Obama is an illegal alien Moslem whose sole allegiance is to Islam. He is dedicated to imposing Islamic rule over the entire world. And the only way he can do so is to destroy America.

With every passing day, I grow more and more ashamed of the so-called “leaders” of the religion that I practice. How on G-d’s green earth can people be so frigging stupid as to continue to fall for the lies, half-truths and fabrications of the Demonrats in general and the Kenyan Interloper in particular?
Not only do the Dems continue to keep the Black people of this country “on the plantation”, they keep the Jewish people of this country “in their pogrom”.

Iran is not our problem, al-Qaeda is. Iran is the problem of Israel and Saudi Arabia. I’m beginning to think we have a lot less to fear from our Iranian “enemies” than we do from our Saudi “friends”.

He was not containing anybody. Don’t ever mistake Saddam for Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi or Hosni Mubarak. If Saddam was friends with Assad to the point of trusting him with Iraq’s chemical weapons and enriched uranium, then he had already fixed his relations with Iran too, and who knows what the cost of that.

To say “Iran is not the problem” is denying reality, though. Iran’s the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism, and out of any state in the world, they are most likely to use a nuke as an offensive weapon.
And with all due respect to the Colonel and yourself, this thread is not about Saddam. Iran’s made direct threats against Israel, to wit the intent of wiping it off the map. Just an aside, but since Iraq’s constitution both under Saddam and the present Shi’ite-dominated government (both were Islamic constitutions, for the record) named Israel as Iraq’s number-one enemy in the region, Saddam therefore was no different from Iran.
To Olog-hai, I just think with our limited resources, we cannot afford to fight the whole Islamic world. If possible, we must try to preserve a tolerable coexistence with an Iran strong enough to serve as a counterweight to a militant Sunni hegemony. The worst thing for Israel would be to face such a monolith.
