Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim Miller cited religion Tuesday in arguing that an openly gay player would not be welcomed in NFL locker rooms.
There are some religions that are just not going to accept a gay individual in the locker room, Miller told "The McNeil and Spiegel Show" on WSCR-AM 670. So now, are you as an organization going to bring that element into your locker room and think everything is going to be OK?

freedom of association and freedom of thought is evil, I guess.
*rolls eyes*
The Rams managed to function when they had Roman Gabriel and didn’t even go to the Super Bowl
Awesome!
i cannot believe that football is going to be turned into pink wearing whiny little pc pussies.
everything must be destroyed apparently. well maybe we all won’t waste so much time on things that really aren’t that important in the grand scheme of things.
GAYS have taken over EVERYTHING in our country....EVERYTHING!! It’s DISGUSTING!
Is smoking pot more wrong than drinking alcohol?
That said, alcohol is not particularly innocent.
Bottom line, I have seen pot and alcohol damage the careers, fortunes, and futures of many, but in different ways.
BTW, if you smoke a joint at night, you still be slightly mentally impaired the next day. Your memory won't be quite as good as usual and your motivation will be reduced. Coffee might help but you are still impaired.
A couple of beers will have basically no effect.
I believe that pot has a much more mind altering effect than alcohol
It's not the drug but the dose ... you can get a mild buzz from either drug, or at higher doses you can get wrecked from either drug.

Again, it's not the drug but the dose - drink enough and you'll still be impaired the next morning.
So back to the question: Is smoking pot more wrong than drinking alcohol?
As you know they are different and not easily comparable. Alcohol leaves the body quickly, but THC is oil soluble and remains in fat cells for quite a long time. So it is not just a matter of dosage.
As to which is more wrong, that depends on how they affect the user.
That said, both should be absolute verboten for young people.
When you ask which is “more wrong?” you are asking for a value judgment. So it is important logically that you modify your request to include “in terms of what” is one more wrong than another (i.e. are you asking which is more damaging to one’s health or which (in my opinion) would God consider more or less wrong or which would society consider more or less wrong?).
When it's in fat cells it's not attaching to neuroreceptors, so has no relevance to impairment.
In terms of your post #11's saying of pot but not saying of alcohol, "The problem is right and wrong."
Not true.
THC that has been absorbed by fat cells is released into the blood over time (some of which is reabsorbed into fat cells). That which is released into the blood from fat cells affects those neuroreceptors that bind to THC.
Not true.
THC that has been absorbed by fat cells is released into the blood over time
At which point it's no longer in the fat cells - so my statement is correct.
There is no evidence that this slowly released THC causes any impairment; you might as well worry about getting high from a poppy-seed bagel.
Are you an addict?
I haven't used pot in about 20 years. Why do you ask? And when will you explain why in post #11 you said of pot but not of alcohol, "The problem is right and wrong."
Because you are defensive to the point of argumentativeness.
As to post #11, I was speaking of pot only, not as to its relative comparability to alcohol. You brought up the issue of alcohol.
Ask me an honest question and I will try my best to give my opinion.
As to right and wrong, I was speaking of spiritual right and wrong. The use of any drug, including alcohol, IMHO, would be wrong if it caused or somehow encouraged sinfulness in the life of a believer.
As to your own opinions and value judgments, I leave them to you.
Gotta go now, sorry I can't stay and chat. Have a good one.
