I had to come on to FR and post the following discussion that just took place at lunch that I had with a law enforcement agent that I am currently working with and a general practitioner who happen to be dining at a booth next to ours.
The television was on as the President was giving his speech about his 23 executive orders. When the discussion arrived about mental health and giving up personal information under the HIPPA act.
The physician stated that if Americans read about Obamacare a year ago they would have seen that the foundation was clearly there for this to be implemented anyway.
He said the bottom line is, doctors have been made cops or "agents" now for the government and are basically ratting out all kinds of information to them and other agencies that are covered under the umbrella of information access that Obamacare grants.
His one example was this:
If you have a history of anxiety attacks...the physician can now recommend to homeland security and the reporting agencies that receive the reports of "YOUR WELL BEING" on whether or not you should possess a weapon or not in your home. If a history of panic, depression, or bi-polar disorders exist in the HOUSEHOLD...your house will be checked off as a home that CAN NOT OR SHOULD NOT OWN A FIRE ARM.
Did you read that? Read it again.
The doctor and officer said this was another way of Obama and the government showing who were the weak links in society and leave them without the ability to defend themselves or have a voice other than to be medicated and monitored by the federal government as well and that routine checks can be made by law enforcement officers via a warrant operation set up by ATF to sweep your home for weapons.
There is so much more to go on here but I had to get this posted on what these 2 professionals were speaking about this afternoon...this is so much worse than anyone is even talking about.
Step 1: meet with your lawyer and set up a gun trust (either title 1 or title 2 NFA)
2: put all of your firearms on a schedule A or B within the trust.
3: When doc or any agent of the state ask if you own guns, legally and ethically you can say, "My wife and I do not personally own firearms". ( because the property is a separate trust asset)
Give the doc one of your SBDs. This is what I’m intending. Would accomplish volumes and would not put you on a list. Well might put you and me on a list of smelly things.
If you have to report the information then it can potentially be used to deny a firearms purchase.
I suppose I should know since I develop HL7 interfaces for transmitting medical billing data, but I'm not sure if HIPAA protects your medical data from being used in this manner...probably doesn't. I could be fined for sharing PHI (personal healthcare information) with a third party, but can the government be held liable for sharing that same data with another governmental agency?

And I saw a new psych-ARNP in early December (have been treated for depression on and off for years). No questions about guns. Been off prescription anti-depressants since spring and she thought I was doing really well -- maybe a little better than her LOL. I don't plan to see another mental health professional in the future. Although I no longer need professional intervention (if I ever really did), Obama will discourage lots of people who should receive treatment from doing so.
How long before they get to the clergy? If they can force Catholics and orthodox Jews to provide contraception, how long before they color the confessional?
reason why this country has gone to crap is because of liberal socialist shrinks, they were the ones which said homosexuality was alright but ignored all the findings of disease, mental illness.
These same shrinks are now telling freaks in schools, weirdo’s etc it;s alright to be out there and be different and would it be the same shrink that the CO shooter went to and she kept saying he;s alright and it;s OK to act differently?

I recently met someone who said that young adults now getting their medical degrees are moving into ER services, not specialties because with Ocare ER will have to treat everyone, so that’s where the action will be.
