One of my least favorite parts of the Constitution is the ban against cruel and unusual punishments. There are certain situations where I think it’s just called for.
This guy may have been a “border crosser” but his attitude about hitting the litigation jackpot for his own bad behaviour is 100% American. We’ve become a nation of lazy layabouts looking for something for nothing. I could easily imagine a US citizen wanting to bring the same lawsuit.
This jerk should pay. He should not receive a cent.
Is there any indication he’s a “border-crosser”? I didn’t see anything in a Google search.
This is a good thing that happened; maybe I can make some money, write a book, jumper David Villalobos told workout buddies yesterday at the Westchester gym where hes doing physical therapy after his Sept. 21 leap into a tiger enclosure at the zoo.
The bolded part is missing from your "quote" of the article.
And it also changes the meaning of the article, since it is clear from the article that he is NOT talking about taxpayers paying for his mistake, he is talking about cashing in on the fame of being the idiot who jumped into a Lion's den.
And whether you agree or disagree with the notion of a society where we reward idiots with book deals and movie rights, that has nothing to do with taxpayers.
The only question is whether they updated the article or not, or if you just missed those three words that change the meaning. There's nothing in the article that suggests it was edited.
And where does your information come to suggest he is a “border-crosser”? I can’t find any internet references to him being an illegal alien.
Hope he gets deported.
