This guy may have been a “border crosser” but his attitude about hitting the litigation jackpot for his own bad behaviour is 100% American. We’ve become a nation of lazy layabouts looking for something for nothing. I could easily imagine a US citizen wanting to bring the same lawsuit.

True-—but the difference is that border-crossers keep telling us they are totally innocent-—just sneaking over the border to do the menial jobs Americans won’t do.

That is not what the article said. He wants to get a book deal. He wants to cash in on his fame, not by a lawsuit. At least according to the article.
