‘No ma’am’: Letter from U.S. Marine to Dianne Feinstein goes viral

The following letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston and headlined “No ma’am.,” was posted in the CNN iReport on Dec. 27 with the included note from the producer and photo. It has struck a nerve with many and is being circulated around social media venues like Twitter and Facebook.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps
2004-2012

Does that even apply to John Murtha?

It applies to all Marines who honor their committment, their nation and their brothers in arms.

I think that answers the question.

Fairly certain it was used in’Lord of the Rings’.

Looking at the pics in my post #138, I believe it. I'd love to visit that place.

Lol! Electoral fraud. When a country in FL has a hundred thousand registered voters and 200,000 ballots, isn’t something rotten in the state of...?

I too thought the letter was perfectly worded and I’m a woman. It sounded like a serious note from a man toward a stranger who happens to be a woman in power. I say “BRAVO” to this Cpl and have no problem with his verbage whatsoever.

Very well done. But I wonder if the Corporal understands just how much trouble he’s bought himself by means of this letter.

Is he allowed to do this? Isn’t he supposedly active duty (if it is a letter from a real Marine)?

And i bet when you were cooking a thanksgiving turkey, you wouldn’t have tolerated him for an instant standing over you, criticizing everything, quibbling over how he was sure he could do it better.

Sounds like you were out of line, and wouldn’t let him do something, something often done by men, and that he had the confidence to do. Poor man had to stand there hearing you basically saying “i have no confidence in you, and you are stupid”.

And he basically said, “i will not have some woman who tells me,,,, when she carries weapons”. If he substituted the word “person” would you feel better? Thats so petty, and it’s just as likely that pettiness was the root of the argument.

stevio said:"If we let it go now, everyone who has fought for this country from the Revolution until now has done it in vain."

I don't agree with that. Our Founders were very intelligent and educated men. They were students of history and understood that virtually all prior republics had eventually failed.

To a woman who asked Franklin, "What have you given us", Franklin is said to have replied:“A republic, if you can keep it”. Our Founders understood that the Republic would be doomed once the majority learned that it could vote itself riches from the public treasury.

If we lose our Republic now, it is no reflection whatever on our Founders. It is entirely up to us.

.

Your now-deceased Korean War Vet husband should have handed you his hammer and other tools and gone on an extended fishing and hunting trip

Nothing like having a no-nothing play instant architect/contractor and tell you what to do as they do all the actual tough gut work

My friend....do you REALLY think that she cares about an “Oath of Office”?

That is for people with integrity, honor, and and understanding of duty to God, Country, and family...Such as that Marine displayed...

Clearly, she is nothing more than a socialist asswipe that wants only power over other people.

As for her constituency...they’re morons, same as her. How else would expect moron democrats to vote?

We’re heading for crap of unimaginable proportions because of these people. Looking back through the history of this country, every sh*t sandwich this country has had to take a bite of was handed to us by the works of democrats and their socialist/communist buddies.

It’s what they do.

Glad that the marine is now a veteran. If he were still on active duty his life would be made a living hell, probably ending up in a Court-Martial. More Americans need to write this witch Feinstein letters and tell her to shove her assault weapons where the sun never shines.
