...Dems want to keep feeding there freeloading moronic supporters...”

so they keep voting dem and do not riot and really cause problems for the working class in America.

The Iraqi surge was a payoff scheme to the tribal leaders of those killing our troops. US gave money to stop the bloodshed. Same principle here in American inner cities. The fat and contented rarely riot. Feed me!

RE :”You, on the other hand, seem really worried about a tax hit on your weekly paycheck.”

I can live with it but I am more concerned with the increased power and popularity O and Pelosi will have with the R party becoming their tax collectors.

With this type of thinking I figure our guns will be banned in 2015 when Pelosi takes back the House.

Not sure why you are calling yourself conservative when you are cheering on tax increases on me and others above. I understand frustration when things dont work out, but Raising our taxes wont help you a bit.

“Downside to that is Cantor is next in line.”

If the conservatives won’t vote to elect Boehner, I doubt they’ll vote for Cantor for Majority Leader. He wouldn’t move up automatically. And he’s just as complicit in his betrayals.

Okay, so why does Mark Levin say this is a good thing?

Because it is. Face it, the House is powerless in this battle. All they can do is refuse to let obama force a tax increase with no spending cuts. If the House does what's done...guarantee the Bush tax cuts for 99.98% of us and enact cuts...they will have done all they can do. obama will not let the Senate proceed and we'll go over the cliff.

Big deal. Taxes go up but at least we'll see SOME spending cuts!

With this move the GOP has handed Obama a huge victory. We get to go over the cliff and he gets his huge tax increases and cuts in defense sepnding. As a result we go into recession that he can blame on the recalcitrant Republican who wouldn’t raise taxes on millionaires. Nice work fellas!

Mr. Torch, you are part of the problem. Arguments like yours are straight out Marxist class envy. What happened to equal protection under the law? Who picked one-million? Based on what analysis? One million on the AGI line in one year does not necessarily define wealth. As the top 5% pay about 50% of all income taxes collected, how fair is it to make them pay more? One of the early posters had it right, at least with the current legislation the federal government moves in the direction of matching income to spending. Reducing government spending leads to a recession -- that ought to tell you something right there.

See that? It’s my ‘Surprised face’ The conservative wing finially stands up to Bonehead and the GOP and says “No, we are not going to vote for new taxes on the rich because we are AGAINST taxes period” and lo and behold, the fan club comes flying out of the woodwork eith every excuse under the sun as to why we HAVE to tax somebody in some Spock-ian delusion of the needs of the many outwaying the needs of the few.

Reality check folks. When you keep voting for lesser evils you end up with evil. Apparently you all learned exactly nothing from the GOP’s excursion into Romneyland.

Either stand for something or stand for nothing.

Once again it’s excuse after excuse. On another thread there’s a guy bitching that old people are the problem and on this one, one of the biggest PDSers is lockstep with the Bohner plan.

And people actually why ‘conservatism’ can’t get squat done. Well, if anyone would take off their denial-tinted glasses for 2 seconds and see that it’s because we are overrun with GOP hacks and flat out DU candidates that we seem to forger that WE HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM, NOT A TAX PROBLEM..

Do you hear one of these idiots complaining about Bohner’s utter lack of exercizing the constitutional power of the purse to shut the whole damn thing down? Nope, not a freaking peep. Do you hear one of these FR ‘fiscal hawks’ bitching about the billions of dollars sent to muslim countries to help fund terror?

Nope.

But they want granny to pay up hard ‘for the children’ and march lockstep with the GOP right into Democrat HQ circa 1976.

Folks, we need a purge. All these people screaming about the ‘purists’ of the party as being a problem? Hello? The opposite of purity is corruption. Look it up.

We have to get over this insanity that we can keep kicking cans and feel no pain. The hard truth is that we are in this mess because we lack the guts to stand up and stick to the principles that make us (supposedly) conservative. And being advocates of class warefare by taxing rich people to death AIN’T IT.

So if anyone wants to keep kicking that can and thinks that we can just have the unicorn poop a sufficient quantity of Skittles to solve the problems we face, ...

Please do us both a favor. Put on your Brony hat, take your Happy Fun Ball, go rally around the GOP campfire and leave us batcrap crazy purist conservatives to our own devices.

And when you FINALLY get reamed enough by your heroes to discover it hurts, just bend over farther because you are getting exactly what you continually ask for. Just shut up and enjoy it.

Folks, this cannot go on.

No matter what Boehner and the Republicans do, they will get all the blame for the damage to this economy and the markets from going off the cliff. Not even the slightest criticism will disturb the individual in the White House or his party. These are dark times. Orwell would be in awe at the manipulation of reality here.

Unfortunately, the GOP's plans, with spending cuts 10 years away, are not much of an improvement.

Which in my opinion, is precisely why the Republicans didn’t win the 2012 election.

The team couldn’t articulate how they were going to get to a balanced budget in short order.

Vague talk about cutting $4 trillion over ten years, when the debt is going up $1 trillion per year, didn’t cut it.

The problem was that opposition to this was based on a big lie, and that HUGE lie was that this B proposal raised anyone's taxes, all it did was protect 99.8% ( all of us) from the comming January 1 tax increases.

I am pretty sure that everyone who claimed this B bill was a tax increase already knew that all the taxes go up January 1, so they knew what they were posting was not true.

Now if they had a principled argument they would have been honest with their stated position:
If anyone gets a tax increase then you all must get one. If the 0.2% get an automatic tax increase than we will defeat this bill so taxes go up on the rest 99.8%. that will teach you a lesson”

But admitting that defeating this bill raised our taxes on Jan 1 would have been the kiss of death for the opposition.

So I expect disaster will result from this.

Nice selective edit as you left out the part where I said “As a result we go into recession that he can blame on the recalcitrant Republican who wouldn’t raise taxes on millionaires.” I was referring to Obama and the politics of it. Nice try though...

Boehner's service as Speaker has come to an end. This serves as a rousing vote of "no confidence".
...let's certainly hope so...
(he's been a disaster, since he was selected as Speaker)...

If that was true then defeating this B bill will stop our taxes from going up Jan 1, but I think you know it is not.
Defeating this bill just raised our taxes Jan 1.

No. Go back to the core of this. The truth is we have a spending problem. That’s the truth. It is the job of the GOP to lower spending and lower taxes. Most signed a pledge to not raise taxes.

Fact. Bohner caved and tried to raise taxes on the rich.

That is a black and white fact.

The party platform says basically ‘read my lips, no new taxis’.

Bohner and his cabal decided they can ignore the platform and their voters and raise taxes. They also caved with the Supercomittee BS. Thats the fact here. And the conservative wing said no.

Now if your taxes rise and my taxes rise because of the supercomittee BS and the FAILURE of boner to stop it by shutting Obama down, then put the blame where it rightly belongs.

At ANY POINT in the past 2 years the GOP could have stopped this. But they did not. They again waited till it was crisis time and followed the Rhamm plan to the letter.

And a flock of sheep in ‘the party’ are being good little soldiers and backing their incompetence to the hilt.

Solution?

1: Accept that because of past FAILure on the part of the GOP, we are now going to get it up the tail.

2: Get rid of the freaking morons that created this clusterfork to begin with.

3: take the platform of the party and FOLLOW THE DAMN THING.

I see no reason for one Repub to ever open his mouth about Obama wiping with the Constitution when they can’t even follow their own party’s ‘constitution’.

Bottom line. It is O U R fault that we are in this mess because we empowered the moderate wing of the Democrat party (the GOP) and just took all the crap they fed us. Now we can buck up, eat the crap we cooked ourselves and make sure we learn from the experience or just keep on keepin’ on.

Because either way, it’s gonna taste REALLY bad.

Exactly how will Obama keep this nation going if all that you mention materializes? Even socialists and communists are not immune to economic conditions that will take down the country.

All the dims are thinking about now is 2014. A couple hundred billion in defense cuts and a huge tax increase will bring the deficit down in the short term. The dims will bring BJ Clinton back out and spike the football. Since the GOP did not offer a “reasonable” alternative he will win that debate with enough voters to take back the House.

All he needs is a comprehensive victory on this issue to club the GOP as the party of rich for the next year and they will get the House back. Then it will be Katie bar the door.

What good are conservative principles if conservatives have no power?

This will be proven untrue when our taxes go up on January 1.

This B bill extended the tax cuts to 99.8% forever. Defeating it just raised our taxes Jan 1.

The GOP is headed for disaster by being tax collector for Obama with thuis defeat, he gets the money, GOP gets the blame. the marxists won a big one last night

Pelosi got all her marxist House members to oppose this tax cut extension. She won big last night.
