Following the tragic shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. by Adam Lanza , many Americans are wondering what exactly our Founding Fathers intended when they set the Second Amendment to paper more than 200 years ago. Surely not the killing of 20 young children and six women.

No, I believe the second amendment was to PREVENT such events.
oh goody more stupid people telling me what Madison meant when they neother respect him or value anything he ever did.....bleeech
And First Amendment was never intended to permit the press/media to become unpaid propaganda arms of the democRAT party, providing billions of dollars worth of free advertising on their behalf.
Madison also never expected millions of Americans to kill their babies in their wombs either.
"What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty.... Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins." (Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts, spoken during floor debate over the Second Amendment [ I Annals of Congress at 750 {August 17, 1789}])
Forget the Bushmaster (alleged assault) weapon. He could have killed just as many with the two handguns he brought that day. So are the media-commies wanting to ban handguns?
Actually I am wondering why the mother allowed her crazy son access to her guns.
All the wondering starts and stops right there.
The founders meant military arms.
That would include select fire assault rifles as well as full auto carbines.
If one of the teachers was thus armed and trained, as they are in Israel, the carnage may have been completely prevented.
THE SECOND AMENDMENT EXISTS FOR ONE REASON AND ONE REASON ONLY... AS A LAST LINE OF CIVILIAN DEFENSE AGAINST A TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT RULED BY DESPOTS. LEAVE OUR RIGHTS ALONE OR BLOOD WILL FLOW IN THE STREETS.

We don’t have a Constitution any more. We have replaced it with Presidential Executive Orders empowered by a gutless Congress and approved by the radical liberal US federal court system. America as founded is dead. We few out here that give a rat’s rear end are now behind enemy lines. We are on our own. We are why FEMA is building their interment camps. There are some on a military base not far from where I live. Nice little place. Gulag style wooden barrack buildings, plenty of barbed wire, and of course the customary guard towers. Makes you wonder just why we need those here in our country. Use on non-compliance rebels? That’d be us by the way. Christians, conservatives, republicans, patriots, gun owners, anti-communists. Yup, that’s us. Enemies in our own country according to the homosexuals and liberals.

OK, let’s start disarming all the drug gangs.
See how that goes, then we’ll talk.
He meant for the adults present to be equally or superiorly armed so that they could have stopped the little puke dead in his tracks.
Aaron Burger channeling James Madison! Cool! I’ll bet Aaron has been abducted by UFOs too. Cue up the theme from Twilight Zone.
Congress has no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every terrible implement of the soldier are the birthright of Americans. The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments but where, I trust in God, it will always remain, in the hands of the people. — Tench Coxe, The Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.
CSM is very liberal, dont let name fool you.
If you read the article it makes the case that the reasons why the founders wanted us to be allowed to own guns are all gone now, they dont exist anymore. It is not an argument why the 2nd amendment never protected those rights.
“it is safe to say that this justifications time has passed.”
But how about the 1st amendment and the CSM?? Is that time passed also?
Madison never envisioned God kicked out of schools either.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.---John Adams,
