Um: 49% of Republicans Think the 2012 Election Was Stolen? (It was)

>Yes, we lost. But I don’t think it’s necessarily fair to say that ACORN stole the election, do you?

PPP's first post election national poll finds that Republicans are taking the results pretty hard...and also declining in numbers.

49% of GOP voters nationally say they think that ACORN stole the election for President Obama. We found that 52% of Republicans thought that ACORN stole the 2008 election for Obama, so this is a modest decline, but perhaps smaller than might have been expected given that ACORN doesn't exist anymore.

Some GOP voters are so unhappy with the outcome that they no longer care to be a part of the United States. 25% of Republicans say they would like their state to secede from the union compared to 56% who want to stay and 19% who aren't sure.

One reason that such a high percentage of Republicans are holding what could be seen as extreme views is that their numbers are declining. Our final poll before the election, which hit the final outcome almost on the head, found 39% of voters identifying themselves as Democrats and 37% as Republicans. Since the election we've seen a 5 point increase in Democratic identification to 44%, and a 5 point decrease in Republican identification to 32%.

It seems there’s been quite a lot of talk of secession lately. Retiring Texas Congressman Ron Paul even released a short video about how the act of secession is a “deeply American principle” passed on from our Founding Fathers, or something. But for those who actually believe allowing certain states to secede from the Union is a good idea, I would respectfully recommend re-reading the first five or so Federalist Papers, in which Publius explicitly warns about the inherent dangers of (a) disunion and (b) the creation of multiple confederacies.

Furthermore, I would also be the first to admit that the results from the 2012 presidential election were utterly devastating, and took me completely by surprise. But call me crazy -- I don’t think the election was outright stolen, let alone by a political organization that reportedly doesn’t even exist anymore! The fact is that Team Romney made a number of costly mistakes, not the least of which was spending precious time and resources in “battleground” states that weren’t really competitive -- before locking up Florida, Virginia, and Ohio.

The best thing Republicans can do right now is look forward to (and prepare for) 2014 -- when the GOP has a real shot at retaking control of the Senate -- instead of dwelling on the past.

Exactly, those who stayed at home or voted for a third party which is a waste in the first place as they have zero chances.

49%? Really?

Another bogus pol... because WAY more than 49% believe the ‘re election’ is not legitimate. (Neither was the first ‘election’).

Right.

And I’m certain that the DNC would gladly fund ANY third party Conservative candidate!

Romney didn’t win Iowa, he stole it.

You can thank Ron Paul for bringing that to light. Funny how it dropped off the radar so quickly.

Why stop the voter Id laws from going into effect in Pa and WI unless you an to steal those states ?
Why keep early voting alive in Ohio and illegally do early voting in all the Dem Fl counties if you are not stuffing the electronic voting machine there ?
The Daley machine was called in 2000 to steal Fl but they lost .
They studied the laws and the flaws in all key states and set up the machine to steal the Pres elections in 2008 and its was active for 2012 .
It’s very obvious .
Why kick out polls watchers in 90 precincts unless your stuffing the machines !

Possible but not likely that fraud accounted for the margin of victory.

A poor campaign by Willard was a bigger factor.

I have nothing against a third party, if it had any chances, but all they do is help the rats and to this I say, thanks, but no thanks

I saw the Republican party as being the party of sane, moral people while the Democrat party is the party of liars and perverts.

Same here

You beat me to it.

O ran a real re-election campaign in the swing states while Romney's was incompetent. A number of his frustrated volunteers have come out and admitted how inept it was, and they were posted here in threads. Alternative the O campaign has been bragging exactly how their 'get out the vote ' campaign worked and was planned to work.,

Once we descend into ‘All the polls and the election was rigged to make it look like Romney lost when he really won ‘ its JIm Jones cult time.
Nothing else to do but sip the poison Koolaid.

Mr. Glass is stupid or deceiving his readers. ACORN was disbanded so that its leaders did not go to jail. They simply renamed the organization and have reorganized across the country.

When 91 precincts in NYC recorded NO Republican votes, and more voters voted Democrat than there were registered in various counties in PA and OH, there was rampant corruption in this illegitimate re-election of BO.

“Or the numerous times when he said after I am reelected, or when I am reelected. “

Exactly. zero walked through this election cycle confident in his re-election. Very confident. I have never, ever seen anyone as confident in the inevitability of the outcome as he was. He knew it was his before the first results were called. All the rest of us were the idiots to think the fraud/handout regime wouldn’t be able to prevail.

Add two more - open primaries in states that go dem, allowing dems to pick our candidate.

There were no presidential choices on my Colorado primary ballot - Mitt was already annointed before we voted. I have not had a primary choice since 2000.
