Hurricane Sandy brought out the worst yesterday in some sleazy New Yorkers, who looted stores and homes across the city.

Some posed as Con Ed workers to dupe their victims.

Police arrested more than a dozen looters in the Rockaways and Coney Island, which had been evacuated, and stood guard outside ravaged stores at the South Street Seaport.

The shot gun remedy should have been very evident.

Guns are evil in NYC. Just ask the majority of the NYC electorate who keep voting for anti-gun fanatics. Self devense and defense of your property are serious crimes in NY and self defence with a gun is probably the worst crime you can commit there - just ask Bernard Goetz.

Probably no NYC cops were on site at that time of the photo.

They were probably doing a bit of "collecting evidence" themselves.

A disaster always brings out the worst of human nature. People begin looting and stealing!

What happened to "A disaster always brings out the best of human nature?" In actuality it brings out the best and the worst.

Have you been having a lot of Romney/Ryan signs being stolen in your neighborhood? We have where we are in Miami. Interesting that the ones stolen have been at houses near a local elementary school. Houses with signs farther away have not by and large had a problem (And I don’t think it’s the kids doing it.)

We are proactively dealing with the situation as I speak. I have just signed an Executive Order to ban all full size candy bars within the entire New York Metropolitan areas. My emergency staff is also looking at the dangers imposed by so-called "Fun Size" candy bars. These are the "Saturday Night Specials" of candy bars, and while smaller, they inevitably lead to hard candy.

Next you will hear from the politicians with a clear answer and solution for this problem..............confiscate all guns from law abiding citizens so it will make it easier for the criminals

Not so here in Japan after a natural disaster 100x that of Hurricane Sandy

You don't have a welfare class there who have a bone deep sense of entitlement - that is they feel entitled to other peoples' goods and money as supported by our government. These looters were just cutting out the middle man.

They’re beginning the prep to get the country to ask how we can have elections when a very populous part of the country is in chaos. Rush has pointed out that the POTUS can’t do anything about it Constitutionally. The only thing he could do is.....declare martial law, which puts the Constitution on hold, if I understand correctly. The looting would add another dimension to try to justify the martial law that some of us were suggesting 3 years ago could be the game plan if Obama thought he wouldn’t win a re-election.

At that time we were also asking how the military would go if they were asked to fire upon and suppress patriotic America in a martial law situation. This is where Obama’s Benghazi screw-up may end up hurting Obama a LOT - because after Tyrone Woods’ heroism and Obama throwing out the military’s whole foundational premise that we “leave no man behind”, I would not want to be Obama asking the US military to “have his back” now, over, above, and against the Constitution.

The mechanics are all in place for the scheme to work. But I have a feeling that if Obama tries to run this machine he’s going to find a lot of cogs that are too bent out of shape to go along with it.

“A disaster always brings out the worst of human nature.”

...don’t lump me or anyone I know or associate with into this “human nature” BS. “Sub human nature” is more like it. From what I can see it’s a whole army of “Obama phone” miscreants.

I wonder if Obama will use his recently enacted doctrine of food and materials confiscation in a disaster scenario, redistribution in effect.

All eyes are on Obama and what he says and does, millions wish for him to be a leader and even more millions wish for him to just STFU and stay out of the way of real leaders and heroes.

Maybe it was just Democrat early voting.

This isn’t “looting” as the term is normally understood - gangs of disorganized scavengers smashing into stores and emptying them. These are small crews of seasoned stickup men taking advantage of stretched police resources. Some of these crews are even dressing as police and fire.

I have a clear solution...

Looters will be shot dead and their bodies hung from trees and light poles as a reminder to the disgusting vermin that their moral decay will cost them everything, should they choose to exercise their morally corrupt behavior.

Anyone willing to steal things from people during this time of crisis should be wiped off the earth. Few things disgust me more. Having been through two major disasters like this, the last thing you want to worry about is Lootie and Friends digging through your stuff looking for freebies.
