Several Obama surrogates in Virginia opposed a popular law that ensures lengthy prison sentences for child rapists.
In March, the Virginia state legislature overwhelmingly passed a law that imposed automatic life sentences for any adult convicted of raping a child under the age of 13. The issue received scant attention and even less debate, according to Delegate Rob Bell (R.,Charlottesville), the bills sponsor.

Opponents of the law visited the White House on at least 17 occasions, according to White House logs. Many are organizing for Obama in the highly charged race to capture Virginias 13 electoral votes. Sen. Louise Lucas, the Obama surrogate who claimed Romneys surge in Virginia lay in racism, Delegate Mamye BaCote, a leading member of VA Women for Obama, and five members of the Obama campaigns Truth Team voted against the strict punishments.

You could have somebody who just turned 18 involved with someone whos 12-and-a-half, and to say that 18-year-old should get life in prison should be up to a judge and jury from the community, not Richmond, he said. These are constitutional rights that we fought for our independence from England for.

RE: Delegate Rob Bell (R.,Charlottesville), the bills sponsor
Bell is running against Mark Obenchain for VA Attorney General next year. Both are republicans. I’m impressed with Obenchain. Met him yesterday in Roanoke at the Paul Ryan speech at Northwest Hardware.
Good Lord...you’re 18 and “dating” a 12 year old? Really ???
It’s not the same if you’re 28 and she’s 22.
I guess that it takes the 12 year old off the list as a potential Planned Parenthood customer.
He raped the same child at 9.
These laws are an affront to the ‘perfect’ person that islam follows.
Maybe now we can understand why some are against these laws.
this admin mails condoms to 11 year olds
I think they favor it

TSgt,
Oh, how I am so strongly tempted to agree with you. I am not a parent yet, but if my child were molested I could not honestly guarantee that I would not hunt the -——— down and hang him first by his man-parts, then hang him from the highest tree in the country.
However, I always worry about one thing: if the punishment for child rape is death, and the punishment for murder is death, what reason does the rapist have not to go ahead and dispose of the witness? May as well be hung for a goose as a gander, so to speak.
It is a hard question. Child rapists deserve nothing but a swift death. However, what good does it do the children when the rapist now has a better reason than ever to ‘finish the job’?
In an imperfect world, justice cannot always be fully carried out. Once the rapist has died in a prison cell, God will carry out the rest of that justice in a more fitting way than any mortal could devise.
IMHO.
I am genuinely curious to hear what your thoughts are on this line of reasoning. To be honest I haven’t heard many other arguments, and would be interested to hear any that you (or any FReepers) might have.
My reason is simple. The child is ruined for the rest of their life. The rapist might as well killed them.
I speak from personal family experience where I know of a 65 year old woman is still haunted from child abuse.
Additionally these monsters can’t be cured.
As a father of two young sons I can’t even begin to articulate the rage a parent feels when their children are hurt. It’s a primordial rage that drives one to kill the offender with their bare hands. No guns or knives, just raw violent death as a result of the unforgivable.

Become a parent and you will understand.
Like the saying goes, the most dangerous place in the world is between a mother and her children.
My reason is simple. The child is ruined for the rest of their life. The rapist might as well killed them
You are correct in saying that these offenders are incurable. That’s why I am in favor of the life without parole sentence.
However, I completely respect your reasoning and sentiments.
NAMBLA stepping up after all the homosexual agenda Bull****.
