This is a pretty horrific story that comes out of Afghanistan. The source for it is Mustafa Kazemi, an Indian war correspondent, who has been operating in Afghanistan since 2010 and has worked for AFP. Due to the horrific nature of the story, I am only excerpting a few parts of it. If you want to read the rest, you’ll have to follow the link. But keep in mind that child marriages like these are happening all the time, not just in Afghanistan, but increasingly even in Europe.

A Philadelphia woman was indicted this week, accused of abducting a 5-year-old girl from her school by posing as her mother, raping her and leaving her barely clothed and crying at a playground. Christina Regusters was charged Monday with aggravated assault, kidnapping, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and several other offenses in the January incident that had police searching door to door and parents clutching their children tightly. CAHOKIA • A Cahokia High School assistant teacher and coach has been charged with having sexual contact with a teenage boy and transmission of HIV. Mario L. Hunt, 35, of the 1900 block of Florence Street in Cahokia, was charged in St. Clair County on Monday with criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse transmission of HIV. The offenses happened with a 17-year-old boy during the first six months of 2011.

A television news crew was threatened with arrest if they dared enter a 500 foot “safety zone” surrounding a school in Florida this week, even though it is not even school property. However, the 27-year-old school teacher that is accused of taking a 15-year-old girl into a closet in his classroom for heavy make-out sessions was not arrested. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said that Palatka High School English teacher Austin Johns did not commit a crime because he did not have sex with the student, even though they were planning on doing so.

Facebook is rampant with child sexual abuse content, child exploitation material, online child predators, harassment, stalking and cyber-bullying of minors and various other forms of predatory activities targeting minors. Facebook provides several options for reporting offensive or harassing content, including spam, scams, graphic violence, hate speech, nudity, etc. Yet there is no recourse for someone wanting to report explicit child sexual abuse content or pedophiles and other kinds of sexual predators. A devastated Mayor Thomas M. Menino is vowing to fire Boston Transportation Department Executive Assistant James Mansfield, who was arrested yesterday on a charge of possessing child pornography. An Episcopal priest who was accused of sex crimes against a young parishioner died of an apparent drug overdose last night on the sixth floor of the Government Center parking garage, police and his lawyer said. BRENTWOOD • An 11-year-old boy identified a Ladue man in a police lineup as the man who exposed himself to the boy in the restroom of a Home Depot in Brentwood last winter, police say. . . The boy was at the store with his father and went into the restroom while his father waited in the store. Last week, Clare County Sheriff's deputies arrested Victorino Bahena Garcia, 32, after he reportedly spent the last two years sexually abusing a young girl. The victim in this case is now 8-years-old. If convicted, the Mexican national faces up to life in prison.
