The sarcasm was palpable in the one-word headline that appeared in The New York Post on the day after Kraft Foods revealed that it planned to name its new global snack business "Mondelez," an interpretation of a mash-up of the Latin words for "world" and "delicious." But that wasn't the only dig.

As someone who grew up in TX, it was a big deal to get to go to the big city of Fort Worth in the 60’s. Being from a small town, Dad always rolled down the window and took a big breath of air as we went by the Mrs Baird bakery. I can still smell that bread. Now Julio Bimbo owns a Texas treasure. I’m sure Vernon Baird is rolling in his grave.
At least they don’t have Mrs. Bairds tortillas!

Kraft is owned by Philip Morris and there's someone in that company that gets his jollies off of changing company names. They changed the name of the cigarette division to Altria now this.

Decided in the past month, I do not have much, but by golly I am going to buy a higher class of bread. Came across Bimbo in the store and it was on sale. Bought, brought it home to show the wife and now we are Bimbo lovers. Of course, I see it everywhere now.
