I’ve recommended Newt’s recent book several times on FR, maybe should do it more often! It’s “A Nation Like No Other: Why American Exceptionalism Matters.”

McCain is worse than an appeaser, he gives up before arriving at the negotiations.

Newt is a fighter and we need somebody willing to punch liberals in the mouth when necessary.

Than AIN”T Mitt!

So, who’s kool-aid ARE you drinking?

““Tea Party “LEADERS?” The Tea Party movement has NO LEADERS. We are autonomous.””

“EXACTLY! “We the People” are the Tea Party.

Some idiots even try to claim that nutcase Ron Paul is a Tea Party leader while he is neither Tea Party, conservative or GOP.”

I agree with your assessment of Paul.

I think he’s OK on the fed and fiscal matters, but he’s got his head up his butt when it comes to terrorism.

Well at a minimum there needs to be fiscal conservatism and a road out of the deficit abiss.

I wish there could be the perfect conservative candidate that could do it all.

#1 Have a spotless past.
#2 Be conservative ENOUGH.
#3 Be elouquent and have a personality.
#4 Be politically savvy.
#5 That could use the position to rally America back to what it should be.

Hope we can do most of that, but it isn't easy and we have no perfect person.

“I will crawl on glass to vote for this RINO if he gets it. He is certainly no conservative and neither is Romney. So, we get conned again. What else is new?”

Just keep telling the Plaid Pants wing of the GOP that. It encourages them to keep shoving career, establishment, “moderates” down our throats.

And things will never improve.

And here’s Newt at the Thanksgiving Family Forum. I know you’ve seen it, katie, but wanted to put it on thread in the slim hope that someone anti-newtonian will give it a fair hearing.

No, of course you mean the "rumored" "post election" book on "climate change."

At this pace, Maple said, his new book with Gingrich would probably be out in 2013, after the presidential election.

Somehow I doubt you'll be man enough to admit you're wrong but it should be fun watching you squirm like an idiot when details are leaked just before the election.

Who do you support?

What does that have to do with your fear of talking about Newties new climate change book?

New Newt Gingrich Global Warming Book to be Released in 2013

Schussel is right.

iming is everything. One day, Newt’s pimping you on global warming, the next day he’s saying he made a mistake, when behind the scenes he’s editing a book promoting his initial global warming BS. Not in the White House or even with the nomination yet, and already he’s selling us out.

Rand Paul is right and I’m glad he said it. Beats the establishment keeping silent on anything the least bit controversial. Just one more piece of factual info to put into the mix. Food for thought. Chew on it.

"Well, I think Rand Paul is right, and I question the legitimacy of these self-appointed tea party leaders to be dictating who is or is not worthy of tea party support."

According to some polls, Romney gets little or no Tea Party support, and "Mr. Tea Party", Ron Paul gets even less.

Tea Party copnservatives can think for themselves.

They need neither a self-appointed Tea Party candidate nor a US Senator to tell them whom to support.

I question the legitimacy of the Pauls to expect automatic support.

If newt is the best this country has, we are in one sorry mess.

My sentiments exactly. I will support Newt in the general, but I wish a Conservative could come to the front.

Newt is a Statist at heart. The people supporting Newt should at least acknowledge that Newt will have to be pushed hard to stay conservative. Newt's big Statist ideas match his big ego.

My biggest peeve about Newt is that he is very, very determined to push the AGW agenda. It is obvious from all his recent interviews. Newt has NEVER EVER stated that man-made global warming "could" be pushed as a fraud. No, he is still hot for believing that "carbon loading" is a serious issue -- to that I say NUTS!

I will vote for Newt but will have no illusions that he will slash government. He will only try to make it "smarter", that is bigger.

UNTRUE. Levin has been tough on Newt, but has ALSO attackedf the mindless bashing of Gingrich, especially from Romney.

You are correct. Mark Levin Denounces Smear Attacks On Newt Gingrich
Newt was the last Speaker to balance a budget.
One, the budget was NEVER balanced. Debt went up year after year.

Not by his own decisions either, you say it like the Speaker is the dictator of the House. Boner can say the same, because there hasn’t been an Obama budget passed under his watch but then you’d not want Boner in charge. We the people sent the Republicans to the House to clean up the mess. We got Clinton redux, and the terrible economy over the last 10 years as a result of decisions.

Newt could have stopped so many bad things that did happen that continue to screw us over, but they either flew under the radar or he reached around the aisle.
He was the first minority leader in 40 years to successfully engineer a take over of congress.
Boner did the same. We should make Boner president.
McCain would never try, let alone succeed, at any of that.
You’re right. McCain was fond of reaching around the aisle. McCain was 100 percent prolife, stayed married to his wife, served in the army, was a war hero, survived captivity in Vietnam, etc.

Newt screwed around on two wives, stayed home.
To compare those two is witheringly ignorant. And Cain would agree.
Absolutely. Newt just doesn’t have it. Newt vs McCain is very much in McCain’s favor.

Owes his sole to the company store. Wall street still wants a bogus carbon credits market. All hogwash, but that is what they want and newt will give it to them, he will call it something else. He had sold out on this issue when he got on the couch with Nancy.

“Are you being obtuse on purpose or legitimately asking a question. The point is this: give me someone who is reasonably conservative who will successfully advance the conservative agenda”

The conservative agenda, so I thought was to be the party of HELL NO. Tell me what the conservative agenda should be that the president needs to advance.

“ADVANCING the conservative agenda is exactly what we do need to happen.”

Right, which is why we need Big Government Newt. The conservative agenda, is the same as always. Cut spending. Cut government. Do things by doing NOTHING and saying NO, and HELL NO, as much as possible.
