HARRIMAN, Tenn. Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain says he's challenging Gov. Rick Perry for the GOP primary's critical evangelical vote.
In an interview with The Associated Press on Saturday, Cain said the Texas governor "thought he had carved out that niche when he didn't own that niche by himself."
The Georgia businessman said he doesn't wear his Christian faith "on my forehead" but believes his campaign will do well with religious conservative voters.

That’s a g00d question. Maybe Herman Cain, or his staff, lurks on FR and reads the Perry threads. Cain is attacked by them every day of the week. I see few if any Perry folks attacking Romney here.
In defense of Cain people: When did we attack Perry? We just say what we disagree with him about, and we rarely deal in personal attacks against fellow FReepers.
But I must say that you Perry folks do little but say nasty things about anyone who is not in your camp. If that has become the American way this country is in worse trouble than I thought.
You have been posting this same long winded garbage on every thread you can find that even mentions Perry. It has been shown to come from a left wing liberal from the NYT. Now Perry supporters are getting really tired of your smears, lies and trash. It can work both ways.
Your opinion. However, Cain’s latest comments may come back to bite him.
Not really. Perry just released his energy plan. it is awesome.
You are the pot calling the kettle black I think. What questions are you referring to?
Deliver us from politicians! They, especially those who have been there so long they’ve taken root in Congress!
Washington is reeking with political corruption. It needs some fresh air!
But the Establishment has infiltrated every institution so I expect it will be business as usual.
That is what we all should fight. And if we don’t, we have only ourselves to blame.
Perry has been well vetted in the past 10 years. Cain, not at all.
:o)
Only political junkies like us are even paying attention now and don't have a clue about what Perry has said.
I think you have departed from reality.
Perhaps with luck and a good map you can find your way home.
I'm not interested in joining in this pissing match but that's funny right there. I can't remember the last time someone posted drivel here and no one fell for it. FReepers, like everyone else, fall for drivel all the time.
It is. And it is.
