Failed GOP White House hopeful Herman Cain, who dropped out after a woman who said she was his mistress went public is staging a comeback of sorts, he announced on Monday--on the eve of the Iowa caucus. "Our mission continues, and we're on fire for 2012 and beyond!," Cain said in an e-mail, highlighting a list of media interviews he has booked. Cain is looking to regain some spotlight in a week heavy with Republican presidential politics--that he is no longer a part of. "....I will soon be announcing a major new initiative. This is a crusade so critical to...

Ginger White now says Herman Cain is not the only man in her life who gave her money. White, who has said she had a 13-year affair with Herman Cain, on Monday told the Daily Beast’s Leslie Bennetts that “Cain wasn’t the only man who helped her financially; her work history and her sex life have long been intermingled in complex and contradictory ways.’’

"Women For Cain" is an online national fellowship of women dedicated to helping elect Herman Cain as the next President of the United States. Mr. Cain has been a strong advocate for women throughout his lifetime, defending and promoting the issues of quality health care, family, education, equality in the workplace and many other concerns so important to American women. Gloria Cain is the National Chairperson for "Women for Cain" and is the very special woman who Mr. Cain devoted his life to many years ago. Mr. Cain and Gloria celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary earlier this year. The couple...

Here’s the news people on Twitter are buzzing about from tonight’s raincheck interview with the Manchester Union-Leader. We already knew this, though — sort of. Cain told Wolf Blitzer on Monday, before we had heard Ginger White’s name, that his wife didn’t know White. (Skip to 7:30 of this clip.) That’s ever so slightly different from saying his wife didn’t know about White or that he was sending her cash, but c’mon: If she did know that, don’t you think he would have mentioned it to Blitzer as proof that their friendship was no secret? Cain said that in about...

ATLANTA - Tea Party activists have been among the strongest supporters of Herman Cain, but a co-founder of the Atlanta Tea Party said she's changed her mind about a candidate she had defended. "I think he should withdraw from the race at this point but that decision is for Herman and his family to make," said Atlanta Tea Party leader Debbie Dooley. Dooley said she was troubled by Cain's denials following the FOX 5 I-Team report on Ginger White and her story of 13-year-long affair with Cain. White pointed to phone records showing repeated calls and text messages between the...

From the breaking news, one might think that with a woman who claims she had a 13-year affair with presidential candidate Herman Cain, someone is being seriously exposed as a hypocrite. That would be the press. The media can't deny they continue to display a lousy double standard. For Republican candidates, scandalous news is instant. For Democrats, it's eventual, if at all! Ginger White's charges sound a lot like Gennifer Flowers in 1992, when she said she had a 12-year affair with Bill Clinton. So many in the press pounce on Flowers as unequivocal evidence of the media's sense of...

Cain slammed by influential group of Iowa conservatives Cameron Joseph November 22, 2011 A top organization of Iowa social conservatives slammed Herman Cain as it narrowed its list for a possible presidential endorsement list. Cain and Ron Paul were dropped from The Family Leader's consideration, leaving Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann as the possible winners. Mitt Romney did not seek the group's endorsement. Headed by the influential activist Bob Vander Plaats, the group criticized Cain, saying he lacked "clarity on the key issues of life, marriage, foreign policy, and presidential readiness" — a major diss to...

On Friday night, Herman Cain was a fly and David Letterman was the spider cordially inviting Cain to "step into my parlor." Didn't Cain or any of his advisors see the potential for disaster in Cain appearing on Letterman's show? Didn't anybody say, "Herman, don't go in there! It's a trap!"? I desperately don't want to be seen as one of those just itching for clear proof that Herman Cain's candidacy is over. But it's hard to have watched Cain on Letterman and not come to the conclusion that neither Cain nor his advisors have sufficiently good judgment for him...

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- The KCRG-Gazette-Iowa State University poll of more than 1200 registered Iowa voters came out Thursday. Three candidates took nearly two-thirds of the overall vote. Herman Cain was at the top, with 24.5 percent. Not far behind, Texas Representative Ron Paul. Mitt Romney took about 16 percent. All other candidates polled in the single digits. When asked for a second choice, voters picked “can’t decide” more than 20 percent of the time, leaving a large gap of uncertainty in the race. In a somewhat surprising twist, Herman Cain polled better among women than other candidates in the poll....

As the Cain candidacy makes clear, women are learning to speak up about harassment, but confidential settlements can get in the way.

Herman Cain is theoretically a great candidate for president. He's a smart, black, successful, conservative "outsider." But as the reality sets in, it's clear that Mr. Cain is barely more ready for the office he seeks than Sarah Palin (or Barack Obama) was four years ago. Cain's performance in a long interview on Monday crystallized this view which has been forming in the minds of many GOP voters in recent weeks. Mr. Cain's responses in Saturday's Republican debate in South Carolina -- which focused on foreign policy -- were a bunch of platitudes about getting good advice before making a...

The Cain campaign reported today they have raised more than $9 million so far in the fourth quarter — roughly six weeks — and that 25% of that ($2.25 million) has come in since allegations of sexual harassment were made public on October 30.

Just when you thought that Hollywood is completely liberal, one of the few known conservatives in Tinseltown recently stepped forward to remind us otherwise. In this case, it's actor/director Clint Eastwood, who recently did an interview with the L.A Times where he talked about his political beliefs. Some highlights: Having started voting for GOP presidential contenders in 1952 with Dwight Eisenhower, Eastwood said he was tempted to break ranks only once — in 1992, for Ross Perot. “I liked him,” Eastwood said. “I guess because I like rebels.”... “...I’m a big hawk on cutting the deficit. I was against the stimulus thing...

Sharon Bialek of Chicago became the first woman accusing Herman Cain of sexual harassment to go public Monday, describing an alleged incident in Washington in 1997 in which the president contender, then the president of the National Restaurant Association stuck his hand up her skirt and tried to pull her head toward his crotch. "I said, 'What are you doing?'" alleged Bialek, who said she had contacted Cain for help getting a job. "You know I have a boyfriend. This isn't what I came here for." According to Bialek, Cain answered, "You want a job, right?" Bialek claims that after...

A twitter account associated with Herman Cain's campaign taunted Gloria Allred amid news that a fourth woman has accused the Republican front-runner of sexual harassment. Los Angeles - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is scheduled to appear on the ABC late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live" today, only hours after a fourth woman is expected to accuse him of committing acts of sexual harassment when he was president of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s. The woman will make her allegations at a New York City news conference at the Friars Club, where she will be joined by her lawyer, Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred. Unlike the three women involved in the previous allegations, the woman scheduled to appear at today's news conference in...

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain says he wasn’t being serious when he penned a column in 2006 calling on Republicans to groom golfer Tiger Woods to run for president. The women who accused GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain of sexual harassment more than a decade ago have effectively been released from any agreements they signed pledging not to talk about the alleged episodes, according to employment lawyers. On Friday, the group Cain headed at the time, the National Restaurant Association, agreed to release one of the women from her confidentiality pledge—at least to allow her attorney, Joel Bennett, to release a carefully drafted statetment saying she stood by the charge. But because Cain has called the charges fabricated and at least in one instance suggested one of his accusers...

MSNBC's Al Sharpton hosted Dana Milbank of the Washington Post and Democratic strategist Bob Frum on his show last night to talk about the Herman Cain story. Sharpton reminded viewers that he was not one to "rush to judgment," on personal matters, but suggested there was more to the story. Milbank noted that Cain's supporters were very passionate, and a large number would excuse him on the issue. "We could find out that he was some kind of psycho-killer and a large number of his supporters would say, 'That's great, at least he wasn't in government.'" Milbank said sardonically. "He's...

Ann Coulter responds to a report from the "liberal publication" Politico that Herman Cain sexually harassed two women while he was the president of the National Restaurant Association. The most damning part of the report, which is not well sourced, seems to be that Mr. Cain made "physical gestures" that weren't sexual in nature, but made the women uncomfortable: There were also descriptions of physical gestures that were not overtly sexual but that made women who experienced or witnessed them uncomfortable and that they regarded as improper in a professional relationship.

Cain turned to Win Wallin, the president of Pillsbury, for help. “I can’t get to your job from where I am,” Cain told him. “What do you recommend?” Wallin suggested getting on the operations training track in the company’s Burger King division, which could lead to being a regional vice president. “If you want to run a business,” Wallin said, “you have to start at the bottom and learn it from the ground up.” It would be an unconventional move. Cain would have to resign his title, give up his company car and nice new office, and forgo stock options...

Herman Cain takes the lead in the Republican presidential nomination contest as GOP voters continue to deny Mitt Romney clear front-runner status. A Fox News poll released Wednesday shows support for Cain has quadrupled among GOP primary voters since late August. At that time, he stood at 6 percent. After three September debates, he jumped to 17 percent. And now Cain leads the pack at 24 percent. While it’s the first time Romney has trailed Cain, it’s the second time he’s been ousted from the lead since July. Romney receives 20 percent — a new low for him but still...

Herman Cain lacks the gooey extra cheese which is the hallmark of the professional politician. His 999 plan would remove the social engineering and lobbyist feeding trough features of our currently insane income tax scheme. Time will tell if there's still hope for a "Citizen Statesman" to lead in America. Maybe he's just what the founders ordered.

Freepers, not long ago I almost threw my TV at BOR for his glib dismissal of CAIN's candidacy. I steamed for over a week (and I still smoke abit). Citing no data or reasons other than BOR's superior intellect and mysterious 'sense' of universal truth, tonight BOR shocked me...he slathered all over this in his opening: 'Talking Points, wherein he defended Cain's 9-9-9, and said Cain deserves serious consideration.

So now the Romney or Perry supporters are desperately trying to portray Herman Cain as soft on the issue of abortion, trying to twist his words out of context to sound as if he said the exact opposite of what he said. Here's the transcript: MORGAN: Abortion. What's your view of abortion? CAIN: I believe that life begins at conception. And abortion under no circumstances. And here's why -- MORGAN: No circumstances? CAIN: No circumstances. MORGAN: Because many of your fellow candidates -- some of them qualify that. CAIN: They qualify but -- MORGAN: Rape and incest. CAIN: Rape and...

Dear Mr. Cain. It is obvious that you better do something fast to change the perception of your 999 plan. It is a good basic idea but will die a horrible death if you don't answer the sincere objections to it. Below are the objections to the plan along with proposed changes: Objection: The plan is regressive. Solution: Offer personal exemptions to the personal income tax, for example, $4,000 per person. So a family of 4 would not pay tax on the first $16,000 of income. Objection: Having to pay 9% sales tax on the purchase of a new home....

Intrigue over the 9-9-9 plan has lifted Herman Cain to the top position (or number-two spot, depending on the poll) among GOP presidential candidates. Of course, Cain's dynamic personality and clear articulation of conservatism are also factors. Nevertheless, without the earthshaking proposal of abolishing the current tax system, Cain would still be a candidate struggling for name recognition from the second tier. With that said, now is the time to ditch the bifurcated plan involving both a flat-rate income tax and a national sales tax. Now is the time for Cain to announce that after consideration of all issues, a...

Herman Cain says the Democrats he has supported in the past were “all moderate Democrats.” I was surprised to find my congressman, Rep. Jose Serrano, on that list. Is he a “moderate Democrat”? Let’s ask National Journal: Serrano has one of the most liberal voting records in the House. Egad. That does not sound like “moderate Democrat” to me. But let’s look at the details: In opposition to Cuban Hispanics in Congress, Serrano has been Fidel Castro’s greatest champion in the House. He has sought repeal of economic sanctions against Cuba. When questions arose about Castro’s future after major surgery...

Herman Cain tested the national spotlight Sunday as the Republican presidential primary’s newest front-runner. Facing tough questions during a 25-minute one-on-one interview on NBC’s "Meet the Press," Cain acknowledged that his plan to simplify the tax code would raise taxes for “some” people and clarified his position that he doesn’t believe abortion should be an option in instances of rape and incest. Scrapping the current federal tax code — which he described as a “10-million-word mess” — would eliminate a host of invisible taxes and eventually reduce prices, Cain said. Some economists have pointed out that Cain’s plan would shift...

HARRIMAN, Tenn. — Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain says he's challenging Gov. Rick Perry for the GOP primary's critical evangelical vote. In an interview with The Associated Press on Saturday, Cain said the Texas governor "thought he had carved out that niche when he didn't own that niche by himself." The Georgia businessman said he doesn't wear his Christian faith "on my forehead" but believes his campaign will do well with religious conservative voters.

Let’s start with this basic fact: Herman Cain isn’t the most likely person to be the Republican nominee for president in 2012. That’s Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts. But, a new NBC-Wall Street Journal poll released late Wednesday suggests that — at least for the moment — a path to victory does exist for the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza. Here’s how — in three easy data points. 1. Cain is already top-tier: Cain has surged to 27 percent in a hypothetical national primary ballot test — up from just 5 percent in an August NBC-WSJ poll. His...

Fueled by Tea Party supporters, conservatives and high-interest GOP primary voters, former Godfather’s Pizza CEO Herman Cain now leads the race for the Republican presidential nomination, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. snip Cain checks in as the first choice of 27 percent of Republican voters in the poll, followed by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 23 percent and Perry at 16 percent. After those three, it’s Texas Rep. Ron Paul at 11 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 8 percent, Bachmann at 5 percent and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman at 3 percent.

Herman Cain is the frontrunner now and I'm hoping that he is prepared for the onslaught that will surely come. From the PPP poll: Strong Tea Party support has Cain in the driver’s seat nationally, just as he has been on our last four individual state polls. With non-Tea Party Republicans Romney actually leads Cain 29-27. But with the Tea Party crowd Cain is getting 39% with Gingrich at 16%, Perry at 14%, and Romney in 4th place at 13%. Romney doesn’t need to win the Tea Partiers to be the Republican nominee. But he does need to finish better...

If anyone needed more evidence that the stars seem aligned for Herman Cain's campaign for presidency, then I submit the logically challenged Wall Street protestors. The intellectual bankruptcy and childish behavior of the protesters provide a jaw-dropping contrast to Cain, whose "only in America" success story gives breath to his pro-liberty and pro-America message, not to mention his This stark juxtaposition gives Cain a boost simply by its existence. The very nature of the gatherings -- the "Occupy" mobs versus the Tea Party rallies -- give us a glimpse into our collective choice of futures. Imagine: if our nation was...

Herman Cain's "9-9-9" tax reform is attracting enough attention to become the focus of this week's Presidential debate. As a plan for overhauling revenues and unleashing the private sector, it's a bold gambit that shows Cain is willing to take chances and shake up the Capital. The 9 percent business tax is a stroke of genius. It would give us the lowest business rates in the world and would make us the "tax haven" for investment from everywhere. The stock market would barely be able to stay abreast. The 9 percent personal income rate would eliminate all the deductions and...

MSNBC.COM - Fueled by Tea Party supporters, conservatives and high-interest GOP primary voters, former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain now leads the race for the Republican presidential nomination, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
