Oh, the double standard? Not the way a Black Republican is treated versus a Black Democrat. No, the double standard Ms. Banks wants to point out is how Conservatives don't demand virtue out of THEIR candidates.

The FreeRepublic mention occurs pretty early on and refers to this thread. Ithis begs the question: Shouldn't an LA Times article that references FreeRepublic.com be exempt from the must-excerpt rule? Just saying.

As the Cain candidacy makes clear, a great many DISHONEST women are learning to ALLEGE harassment whenever they want to discredit a man without danger of legal consequences to themselves.

“...whenever they want to discredit a man...”

Also, when they want to make a quick buck as this ‘accuser’ did.

She scored THEN and wants to score again! It is institutionalized blackmail.

The single thing that doused my Cain fire was the fact that he did not know what a “libya” was. And he did not know that we were at war there or why. Of course, nobody knows why, but he did not even know about it.

IMO ignorance of the Libya mugging is weird for any alert adult anywhere, but for a Presidential candidate, it is just unacceptable.

I just wonder why when he ran for the Senate these people kept quiet?

Just saying.

Gloria Allred has no credibility

She is a drive by ambulance hit person for DNC ( see Meg Whitman)

After the conservative candidate is wounded laying on the side of the road, the L.A. Times presents a luke warm defense.

I notice that they didn't bother to publish the most damning detail:

But Zuckerman — according to legal records — is also a losing gambler and failed day-trader who sold his pediatric practice and filed bankruptcy a year ago.

Let's go to the instant replay, folks. What did the court decision really say?

“In May 2010 (after the bench trial, but before the judgment was entered) Stratford Pediatric sold its assets to Central DuPage Hospital for $333,000.00 in cash. This money was mostly transferred to Zuckerman’s personal accounts. He soon went on a gambling and day trading spree and lost all of the money. In July 2010, Zuckerman moved to Louisiana. On September 15, 2010, Zuckerman filed a chapter 11 petition in the Western District of Louisiana. His creditors include, among others, Stratford Center (with claims of $675,000.00), his ex-wife (with claims of $89,000.00), and the IRS (with claims of $50,000.00).”

These actions aren't just a "losing gambler". These actions indicated someone that may have a serious gambling problem.

Instead of using the proceeds of the sale of the practice to pay off the past-due rent, he gambled it away.

Of course, the author subsequently explains why he/she chose to gloss over this little tidbit:

Maybe it's because I've already decided which side I'm on, but this "scorched earth campaign," as Allred calls it, is beginning to seem almost as tawdry as the reaching-under-the-skirt thing.

For the record, I don't believe Cain's denials. But then I think the candidate is a buffoon; Donald Trump with less hair and a better barber.

L.A. Times Magazine Former Publisher Sues For Sexual Harassment

The Los Angeles Times Magazine's former publisher has filed suit against the Tribune Company, asking for $13 million for what he claims was wrongful termination, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and violations of business and professions code, The Wrap reports.

...

According to the article, the man filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court saying he witnessed sexual harassment and was rebuffed when he tried to contact Human Resources to report it.

You don't really believe he lost that money gambling, do you?

My bet is that money is hidden in an account which cannot be traced.

There’s definitely a double standard going on. Fortunately FreeRepublic provides the forum for all of the facts which obviously includes those that are inconvenient to the lamestream media’s efforts to pursue and promote their prejudices.

Obviously grassroots America is fed up with investigative reporting that passes for journalism these days when a liberal politician’s associations are dismissed while the charges against a conservative politician are magnified to the point of absurdity.

Cain is the standard bearer for American exceptionalism. Unfortunately the lamestream media is the standard bearer of mediocrity in their acceptance and obsequiousness with regard to those whose agenda they admire.

For Cain, it’s barely concealed racism. For others approved by the media, they pursue an obvious policy of malignant avoidance via their editorial staff.

We live in a strange world when major media entities pursue National Inquirer standards. It’s no wonder their declining revenue stream indicates increasing irrelevance in America.

They’ll blame the internet when they should examine themselves and their motives closely.

I do believe we had a deal with LA Times and they've gone and violated the provisions.

IMO, he found himself in a No-Win situation.

I agree that his response looked ackward and was somewhat delayed. But what do you expect? If he answers quickly and says anything the MSM can twist or cut-and-paste, they make him look bad by taking his comments out of context. If he recognizes that possibility and takes his time to answer, they accuse him of not knowing about Libya.

Either way, he can't win. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
