The republican-controlled legislature of TEXAS passed the bill on in-state tuition. Perry signed it. There were only 4 that voted against the bill.

Texas is one of the premier conservative states in the nation. Second to NO ONE.

Are you telling everyone on this forum that the Texas legislature needs to be booted from office for passing this bill? It sure sounds like you are.

Maybe get your facts straight and study the issue a little closer as it pertains to Texas conservative leaders.

To crucify Perry on this is to crucify the entire assembly. Remember that, buddy. Be careful who you insult and lock horns with. Because you're tackling the whole House.

How can "rewarding" illegals in Texas by keeping them in Texas colleges, affect your life in Mississippi?

Doesn't make sense!

Using “last name” is typical leftist, NWO, globalist deflection from the real issue: illegal presence in the country and all the security, economic, and cultural issues associated with their illegal presence.

... He called for boots on the ground and air cover.

And like under Obama and Bush before him, the boots will not be armed, nor will they be allowed to engage the illegal trespassers. The boots and the air cover will just observe, like the bobbies during the recent riots in London. To add icing to the cake, any member of the border patrol who dares do their job will be prosecuted.

Perry looks to me like just another politician backed by cronyism and a well financed political machine.

That could be useful in kicking the Democrats out of office and saving the U.S.A. from destruction by them, but who's to save the U.S.A. from destruction by the likes of George W. Bush?

Not bothering to read further in this thread as there is the target.

I have no doubt we would see a "bipartisan" amnesty out of Gov. Perry which makes most other issues pale in comparison. We can correct issues with debt and budget, abortion and gun laws but if we allow 30 MILLION criminal illegal aliens to step into voting booths this nation is done.

It needs to be burned into the brain of conservative, republican and true independent voters that President Bush pulled his bipartisan amnesty stunt in year SEVEN of his terms.

"See you at the signing" was a DIRECT quote, and we are seeing the same policy environment from Gov. Perry.

There are issues with every candidate but the GOP at this point must make sure that the candidate chosen doesn't have more issues than Obama.

The only one even close to Obama on having issues is Romney.

mo post

Securing our border and dealing with anchor babies, illegal aliens, legal immigrants of all ilks (permanent, guest workers, green cards), and their expended families is the seminal issue. It impacts our national security, economy, jobs, culture, size of government, rule of law, standard of living, the state of SS, expanding fourth branch of government, the size of our debt ...

We cannot serve as the job and social service departments for the world.

You’re right. That ‘last name’ ploy was straight out of the Leftist play-book. It was a real tip-off where this guy’s loyalties were.

He was trying to lure in the Hispanic vote. To hell with the White vote. What an ass.

" Either we are going to accept these people as citizens or gather them all together and ship them back."

I beg to differ.

They come across our Southern Border for all the freebies.

They are living in a desperate situation in Mexico.

If you put a big, juicy steak outside a fence housing a starving dog - that dog WILL find a way to get to that steak!

If there is no food, the dog will NOT stay....

It's called Self-Deportation....(by the millions)

Of course, I'm not talking just about 'food' here, but all the benefits - the jobs, getting paid 'under the table', the tax benefits they can receive by lying about their dependents (sometimes under 30 different aliases), the readily available identities to be bought, money to send 'home' to grandma and family, medical care, education, and own and own and own......

They are receiving more benefits than our veterans - many who are now homeless.

SOMETHING IS SO VERY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!

Thank you so much for making my point. The border needs to be guarded and the illegally immigration needs to stop immediately. We can not stop the crisis in Mexico but we can stop it at the border. This should have been done decades ago but wasn’t and now we have millions of people here, so what do we do with them? Like you said yourself Mexico is a desperate situation, so the worse conditions here are still better then the best conditions there. That being the case doubt that millions will self-deport back? So again what do we do with the millions here?

Illegals are more likely to be collecting government checks than picking crops, despite the incessant latino propaganda. They use multiple dentities to suckup all the freebies they get riding the US gravy train. Jose Madrigal, the Washington state rapist, had some 30 identities. Most of these "impoverished immigrants" pay several thousand dollars for each identity. They also get SS no's for anchor babies and use the no's themselves to suckup numerous US govt freebies using multiple identities.

THE SAGA OF PEDRO----RIDING THE US GRAVY TRAIN An illegal alien w/ wife and five children violates our borders. He gets a job mowing lawns for $5.00 or 6.00/hour. At that low wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax, so each year, he files an Income Tax Return to get "EITC---earned income credit" of up to $3,200 scot-free. He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent. He qualifies for food stamps and no deductible, no co-pay free health care. His children get free school breakfasts and lunches. The kids qualify for monthly SSI checks, faking ADD; the illegal and his wife get SSI if they fake being aged, blind or disabled; SSI qualifies them for Medicare. Plus illegals don't worry about pricey items like car insurance, life insurance, or homeowners insurance, and qualifies for relief from high energy bills.

NOTE WELL: Earned Income Tax Credit is available only to immigrant workers who obtain legal work status. But the law allows immigrants to claim EITC for up to three years prior to obtaining that status. Workers simply file a tax return for the years in which they were not legally eligible to work in the US. The most widespread abuse stems from the requirement that children live with the worker for more than six months of the year. IRS does little to verify the claim. Many immigrants claim non-existent children, or claim children who they’ve left behind with relatives. Those with two or more children and income below $32,121 could get as much as $4,008. It is estimated that illegals got $22 billion.

THE LUCRATIVE PHONY ID BUSINESS---DOCUMENTS FOR A PRICE

NORTH BERGEN, NJ -- July 21, 2006 -- Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, L/E said.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses for any state in the US, passports and resident alien cards, said state police.

Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot. Authorities wouldn't identify the NJ hotel by name for fear it would spark retribution from savage drug cartels operating in the US.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout.

L/E approached the Texas brothers when they returned to the NJ hotel and questioned them separately. The Texas brothers consented to a search.

Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs.

All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street. Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 fake Social Security cards. ####

It encourages them to illegally enter Texas from mexico... few probably can pass the grade... and with storms and other disasters... they move out into other states from Texas... I know... the vast majority of illegals caught here come from border states... yours being the largest.

You don’t have to be a “Perry Hater” (sheesh I wish people would grow up and stop talking like Jr High Schoolers) to be concerned about his record. BTW I’m as Texan as you are and he concerns me and has since the day he took office as Gov. Yes, I live in FL at the moment. But I have talked to my conservative friends and family who still live in TX and most do NOT support him in the primary.
Now, if he ends up with the nomination, I will be forced to support him over Obama, but at this moment I see better options. I think he is saying what he thinks we want to hear, but he has done things in the past that lead me to believe he is for more big government solutions than I am comfortable with.
Oh, and no, I don’t think anyone in this country illegally should get ANY sort of benefits, including in state tuition to college. They should be ushered across the border as soon as it is discovered that they are here against the law. Do I think their parents come here because their kids can have in state tuition? I certainly think the panoply of benefits afforded to them and their children (especially their children) are a draw. Yes sir, I do believe that. Why keep adding more?

Are you aware that they have to have graduated from a TX high school that they have attended for at least 3 years? IOW, they meet the same requirements for out of state tuition by all other Texas kids.

They amount to 1% of college kids...and are the very ones you don't have to worry about!

Do you think it is a responsibility of the states to protect the borders? If it's a state's right/responsibility to protect it's borders, why don't y'all just send illegals back where they came from? Do what you say we should do!!

Protect your own state borders before you preach to us!

.........illegals are being financed and coached by Third World governments....those backpacks they carry across the border contain all the info they need to get on the US gravy train............

South/Central America and Mexico are conning the US -----extorting US tax dollars to support Marxist/terrorist movement via the Merida Initiative (passed by Congress)----a despicable con to arm South/Central America/Mexico police and military using US tax dollars (this serves to protect terrorists and drug cartels moving across the border into the US)---the Zetas are already ensconced in Dallas, Texas).

============================================

Clearly, the Mexican govt is fomenting drug violence in order to: (1) get billions of dollars in US assistance, and, (2) to help their populations flee over the border claiming they are victims of violence and need "asylum." Asylum claims gets illegals thousands of dollars in SS funds.

Mexican Federales are getting rich using some familiar strategies:

(1) plotting to become a ward of the US;

(2) faking victimization;

(3) secretly revving up internal conflicts;

(4) play-acting the ignoramus;

(5) claiming they can't "control" their enemies without US money;

(6) organizing voting blocs----exchanging votes for US cash.

It's all a big scam---illegals are being financed and coached by Third World governments.

The corrupt federales are salivating to loot the US Treasury, to get their dirty hands on trillions in US foreign aid---and they need a voting bloc to manipulate sap-happy US govt officials.

They calculatedly use ethnicity---and hyphenation---to form pressure groups, separatist voting blocs, to extort US tax dollars from working class Americans. Hyphenation is antithetical to the American way of life. Hyphenation is clearly a diabolical plot to undermine democracy. Either they are full-fledged Americans or they are not.

======================================

In Perry, the pukeneos got themselves another GWB to dupe into pushing the secret puke agenda.

THIS WE KNOW Perry will do nothing to stop illegals from violating our borders. Oh sure, he’ll talk plenty about "securing" the border. But once in office, like GWB, he’ll do the "compassionate act, and solve the illegal problem by giving them all amnesty.
