“Did Fast & Furious violate the Arms Export Control Act?” attorney and author David T. Hardy asks on his Of Arms and the Law blog.
He’s referring to the Arms Export Control Act that “authorizes the President to define defense articles and regulate their export.”
There’s no exemption from the State Department permit requirement for “official use” since no one is admitting walked guns are part of approved U.S. foreign policy, so the bottom line seems to be:
Any person who willfully violates these provisions "shall upon conviction be fined for each violation not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both."

Whoever did this does need to be held accountable for the death of our border agent and countless Mexicans.
One million bux per count would not be enough - but would be better than nothing.
Since this goes all the way to the top, an independent investigative prosecutor needs to be named. Otherwise Holder and his JD will do nothing.

We also need more than the standard resignation so Holder can become a high paid advisor. We need to see someone go to prison.

Through clenched teeth....They better get both houses. If we lose the Presidency to Obama we had better have both houses to stop everything the bastard tries to do, and defund everything the bastard’s done.
To be truthful, it makes me want to puke when people pronounce “Nothing will happen” etc. Statements like that are just pre-emptively waving the white flag and promoting defeatism.
It sure is an excellent excuse for doing nothing, isn't it.

Thank you for attending our little hearing Mr, Holder. First, would you please produce copies of all the paperwork which authorized transfer of firearms across the border to Mexico by the State Department? If you don’t have the paperwork, or if it doesn’t exist, please provide the names of all the people involved because they could be in serious legal trouble and could be subject to lengthy prison terms and fines in the millions of dollars.
