Last week, our administration launched a major new effort to break the backs of the cartels. My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner, DEA is adding 16 new positions on the border, as well as mobile enforcement teams, and the FBI is creating a new intelligence group focusing on kidnapping and extortion. DHS is making similar commitments, as Secretary Napolitano will detail.
But as today’s conference has emphasized, the problem of arms trafficking will not be stopped at the border alone. Rather, as our experts emphasized, this is a problem that must be met as part of a comprehensive attack against the cartels – an attack in depth, on both sides of the border, that focuses on the leadership and assets of the cartel...[2]

Melson was hired in April '09 just a few months after Holder and DAG Ogden described the changes to Gunrunner.

I’m pointing out that while he his noting the transition, his comments do not contain admission that the guns in question would be released uncontrolled - which is the criminal act. What he said can be construed as just increasing what is presumably legal investigations.

But he describes operational parameters and funding that are known to be specifically part of F&F not Gunrunner which puts him pretty close to admitting he knew the exact changes down to allowing guns to cross the border. See the second link in post #39 and listen to DAG Ogden detail it even more, at about the same time as Holder’s speech in Mexico, where he names 0bama as ordering this new phase of Gunrunner, later to become known as F&F, and he names Holder as well.

Same here. With thing that are really happening that not too long ago would have been considered satire it’s time to keep things real. There’s a flap going on right now about a piece that was satire that some took to be truth.
I wish there was a way to have our settings be everything BUT SATIRE AND BLOGS!!!!

What we do have is a DAG who publically connected 0bama and Holder with specific descriptions that can only be a part of F&F which gives us the certainty that they lied about knowing about it. All that is necessary to tie it together is one person's testimony or a document that Holder and/or 0bama were briefed on the specifics of ignoring the straw buyer's purchases.
We know without doubt now that 0bama ordered the program, Holder spoke about the program and they both lied about knowing about the program. Anyone clinging to the thread that they can deny that they knew more details, the damning details, and that no one can directly contradict that is holding on to a single strand of silk thread.

A lot of them are out there concerning Gunrunner, like finding the Ogden video and the $10M funding are proof Obama ordered guns walked. No—those are only proof that a known project was authorized by the government—not in secret, but with press releases and everything.
GUNRUNNER has been well known. For a long time. See those “Journalist Guide” icons in the left margin of my WarOnGuns blog? Guess where I got the cover art to modify from? And Gunrunner is NOT synonymous with Fast and Furious—that was a component strategy presented as a sting op. that turned out to be something else.
Mike and I are concerned with gunWALKING—where the stated mission was deviated from with the criminal conspiracy we now see unfolding.
Suddenly I am being hit with a wave of tips about the old known stuff like it’s being discovered for the first time—for many, I’m sure it is. I don’t know if the genesis of that originates from people not knowing the history of this and jumping in to be helpful and spread the word, or if there is intent to sow confusion and misdirection.
Either way, it does not help, and can actually hurt. A lot.

How far can the Repubs go with this ? when their Chief started the program in 2005 ?!?
Did Obozo just enhance the existing program or morph it into something totally different ?!
Then, in 2009, barry bassturd and holder the magnificent changed the Bush admin program so that weapons not traceable were not only allowed to be sold to cartel buyers but the dealers were told to let the weaponry loose! That means thousands of weapons were purchased and 'walked' to cartel members in mexico, without traceability, and subsequently used to kill hundreds of Mexicans and at least two U.S. agents. But wait, there's more! The Holder administration of this guns to cartel members used American taxpayer dollars to help purchase weaponry which made their way across into Mexico! Now, having been caught trying to creat a crisis so they can exploit it for gun control in the U.S., the liars of the barry bassturd administration are trying to conflate the Bush program and the changed program under Holder and Obama. Don't let them
