Closing the ‘terror gap’ and the gun show loophole
Washington Post ^ | 06/06/2011 | Meathead Editorial

Posted on 06/11/2011 3:04:12 PM PDT by neverdem

THERE MAY NEVER be a better spokesman for closing the gun show loophole than Adam Yahiye Gadahn.

A 32-year-old American and convert to Islam, Mr. Gadahn referred to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, as “blessed raids” and called for additional “jihad against America.” He has been on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list and faces criminal charges for treason and for providing material support to al-Qaeda. Mr. Gadahn is believed to have left his native Orange County, Calif., for Pakistan, where he has become a multimedia front man for the terrorist organization.

His latest message, released on the Internet last week, calls on extremists in the West to take up arms against the United States.

“Let’s take America as an example,” he says. “America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms. You can go down to a gun show at the local convention center and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check, and most likely without having to show an identification card. So what are you waiting for?”

Mr. Gadahn is wrong in one respect: Individuals cannot buy “fully automatic assault” rifles without government authorization. But his larger point is well taken: Purchasing deadly weapons in the United States is easy — especially at a gun show. Buyers can scoop up semiautomatic weapons and extended magazines from private dealers at these shows without undergoing a background check...

The Coordinates of Radicalism

I have a better idea. Ban the religion that supports violent jihad! The Constitution was not intended as a suicide pact.

Purchasing deadly weapons in the United States is easy —

... and as long as it is ANYBODY will have to think twice about trying to put their foot down too hard on the American people.

Try “ban the treasonous and seditious political movement disguised as a religion called Islam.” Or “ban the treasonous and seditious aspects of the political movement called Islam.”

There really isn’t a First Amendment issue here if done properly and with a full awareness of what Islam truly encompasses.

(I know you knew that, just emphasizing.)

Note they keep on propagating the lie of the gun show loophole.

Just remember that this is step one in the process of registering and the confiscating our means to the right of self-defense.

Just as they used the 90% lie on Mexican guns to attain more power over your freedom, they will use this “Serious Crisis” this to attain more.

They know they cannot register and then confiscate your guns without the first step of controlling the sale of every gun everywhere.

Let me see if I get this right. There’s an implacable enemy eager to buy weapons to kill me. The solution is preventing me from buying those weapons to defend myself.

God help us.

The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion. But no one wants to deal with the 500 pound bear in the living room. Where do you draw the line on “religion.” Is Satanism a religion. Peyote smoking? Hanging minorities from trees like the Ku Klux Klan sometimes did?

During most of American history, religion meant the various forms of Christianity and Judaism. And maybe Chinese Buddhists if they stuck to their compounds and helped build the railways. And maybe Catholicism, except in certain states.

I don’t think the lines need to be drawn too closely, but I don’t see why we need to tolerate Satanism. We don’t tolerate voodoo when it gets to the point of sacrificing animals. We wouldn’t let Aztecs build a pyramids, go out and enslave people, and cut out their hearts.

Islam was never a problem until recent decades. There were hardly any Muslims in this country until after the Second World War. I think maybe we need to consider drawing a few lines. No honor killings. No stonings. No cutting off people’s heads. No jihad. Maybe, at some point, export them back where they came from if they insist on these modes of behavior.

The problem the Post describes is not gun shows; it is Muslim terrorists.

How about denying 1st Amendment rights to any one or any newspaper trying to deny 2nd Amendment rights to Americans?

Sources tell ABC News that in August 2009, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan walked into the Guns Galore gun store in Killeen, Texas, and legally purchased the FN Herstal tactical pistol that authorities believe was used to massacre soldiers at Fort Hood.

There's a simple answer. Put suspected jihadis under 24/7 surveillance of snipers when NICS checks are done and weapons bought. What useful info can you get from a lone wolf? When they draw a weapon, the Hostage Rescue Team can just shoot on sight.

Adam the Damned will see more automatic weapons than he wants when SEAL team 6 shows up at his compound. He’s a citizen so we can’t just whack him out of hand and feed him to the sharks.

This is not as big a handicap as one might think:

Voice in the darkness: “US Navy! You’re under arrest, Gadahn!”
Gadahn: “Allahu Akbar!”
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
Voice in the darkness: “Say, Chief, this ‘alla-who snackbar’
means ‘I won’t surrender.’ Right?”
Chief: “I’m sure that’s right, now shovel him into the body bag and let’s get out of here.”

I go one step further: the problem is political correctness.

Were Americans as a whole willing to speak the truth about Islam -- about jihad, rationalization of lying, attitudes toward non-Muslims, etc. -- being a Muslim would be as acceptable as being a skinhead.

Leftist jackals really need to be kicked out of the country. They don’t belong here or in any free country.

These lib gun grabbers are getting out of hand, maybe they need this reminder, being;;;;

I present to you:

The "Conspiracy Against Rights" Law, Title 18, Chapter 13, Section 241.

It says: Any Two or More Persons - who conspire to deprive a citizen of a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution (like the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights), may be held personally responsible for damages. If these public officials conspire to injure, oppress, threaten or intimidate ANY PERSON in ANY STATE, Territory or District in the free exercise of any Right secured to him by the Constitution of the United States, that public servant(s) can be found guilty, and can be punished by up to 10 years in jail.

(And THAT means that if someone looses their life because you took away means of self defense, you are an enabler of murder. One of these sad days this is going to occur and someone is going to pay dearly.)

IMHO this is NOTenough time behind bars for a person who enables murder.

Hava a fine weekend all

Who is the self loathing idiot that wrote this editorial?

Unsigned editorials are usually called masthead editorials. They are products of their editorial boards. The NY Times had over a dozen members the last time I checked. Two or three of them would get tasked to a topic by the boss, IIRC.

When they blow it like here, I put Meathead Editorial.
