If she had declared herself a lesbian, the school would have taken action under the “no bullying” concept. Sadly, she is a heterosexual, so they saw no reason to help her out. Only protected species get protection, of course.

Too bad, although there may be more to this story we’re not being told.
This is a big reason why girls tend to shy away from math and science. When they ask too many questions, they’re made to feel dumb. Their instinct for socialization kicks in, and they decide to channel their energies elsewhere.

That’s exactly what Emma would find at any of our Ivy League schools these days. Where to go to get an actual education today??? Doesn’t seem to be in ye olde hallowed halls...

The insider says Watson didn't shy away from class participation and often would "answer something in class and get it right," calling the 21-year-old actress "really smart." Unfortunately, this brought out the sophisticated wit and cinematic expertise of her Ivy League peers.
A lot of Ivy Leaguers seem to be silly twits who incorrectly think their Brown/Yale/Dartmouth Cs entitle them to think they're as smart as kids who get As at non-Ivy League schools. Unfortunately most of our recent presidents have been Ivy Leaguers, which probably explains a lot.

The students at Brown are the children of priviledge. You can expect the overwhelming majority of them to be utter assholes.

She can't be that intelligent, she enrolled in Brown U , ffs.
It's the little yellow bus of Ivy Leagues. That stinks of patchouli and failed ideologies.

Send her to my house! I’ll educate her myself! I’ve got some books too!

Yep, many recent presidents, both Republican and Democrat, have gone to Ivy League colleges.
Perhaps Reagan connected so well with middle America because he was a graduate of tiny Eureka College, a place that most people have never heard of.
And is it true that every single Supreme Court justice, whether liberal or conservative, is a graduate of either Harvard or Yale law schools?
We are governed by a select elite group, whether we realize it or not.

The students at Brown are the children of priviledge. Yes, if I remember correctly, Brown is one of the few schools that provides absolutely no financial aid. Harvard, of course, is very expensive -- but they do provide significant help, so the out-of-pocket expense of Harvard is large, but not quite as large as it may appear. Brown? Oh, the huge expense there is exactly what it appears to be: Huge. This is where rich people send their dumb children: it is not so challenging academically, and all it really cares about is money.

Boo hoo.. the brownies were mean to me..

Emma wasn’t asking the questions, she was answering them.

You're living in the past. Those schools don't award Cs anymore. 80% of the kids at those schools graduate with some form of honors. They get a B+ now just for showing up. You got the "silly twits" part right, though.
To: SeekAndFind
Emma should have come to Cornell instead.
We don’t joke about Harry Potter here (because the campus and surroundings look too much like Hogwart’s and you may well have to use magic just to find Ithaca.)

Exactly. This is the worst kind of bullying. They are in a learning environment, Emma shows evidence of actually working and learning -- and so they made fun of her.
It's a lot like blacks beating up a student for "acting White". The children of privilege don't like to see people working to get ahead -- it makes them feel bad about themselves.
