Tea party leader lashes out at Scott Brown (RINO says Tea Party "simply irresponsible")

Sen. Scott Brown has thrown his tea party supporters “under the bus” with his recent critiques of some Republican budget cut proposals, a movement leader said Friday.

Brown, a Massachusetts Republican, on Thursday denounced GOP suggestions to cut social and cultural programs as “irresponsible,” and Judson Phillips, a leader of Tea Party Nation, is steamed.

“Brown is a politician, and that is meant in the worst sense of the word politician,” Phillips wrote on his blog. “Scott Brown used the Tea Party to get elected. Now he no longer needs this movement and we are tossed under the bus.”

In a Thursday floor speech and in a letter to Senate leaders, Brown said that while cuts “reducing and eliminating needless spending and programs are appropriate … a wholesale reduction in spending, without considering economic, cultural, and social impacts is simply irresponsible.”

Republican proposals, he said, “establish the wrong priorities that would disproportionately affect low-income families and seniors.”

We all knew Brown was mushy, but he must have gotten stuck recently in a potato masher.

He’s up for reelection next year. He only has a few months to save his senate career ... by switching parties.

There's little benefit in putting in a RINO, just to beat a Democrat. Collins, Snowe, Graham come to mind, and they vote and cave to Democrats like clockwork. Until MORE conservatives are elected, and politicians continue to depend on the money-machine known a the Republican Establishment, we will have more government intrusion, higher taxes, and ever-increasing spending.

Look at what we have in the House right now, with Boehner trying to get something done, and just accepting a token reduction in spending.....the Democrat passage of HUGE deficit spending on vote-buying and un-Constitutional over-reach is not being dismantled at all. The Czars remain, the Regulatory Agnecies remain, and even NPR is not being de-funded.

As a tea party member, I believe that Senator Scott Brown and many other old guard republicans are rino liberals who enable the left wing communist democrats to destroy America.

Then the GOP trumpets bills they propose that have no possibility of passing because Obama is prez. The Dems would win by hook or crook in the same situation.

But I also still remember all the knuckleheads here insisting we should have voted for Super Rino Michael Castle in Delaware. He was Scott Brown on steroids.

Us pro-life Freepers warned all you fiscal non-social conservatives that there is no such thing as a pro-choice conservative. I am not the least bit surprised by Brown’s embrace of social liberalism and big government spending. Scott Brown played all of you for fools. Don’t be surprised if he runs for re-election as a democrat.

Brown is destroying himself with this nonsense. The trick is to appease the liberal voters without offending the conservatives.

I suspect he has accomplished exactly the opposite.

It will not be possible with THIS Congress to get the necessary eliminations and cuts in programs, due to the makeup of the Senate, and of course, the Usurper who is squatting in the White House.

However, NOW is when the Republicans should be taking a stand on the Constitution, big government over-reaching, handouts to constituencies who produce nothing but a drain on others' earnings, etc.

Until Principles are held dearly, rather than the phony "bi-partisanship" caving gambit, there is no hope that we can return to greatness.

"disproportionately affect low-income families and seniors.”

Clearly, Brown's reelection strategy is to help the Democrats try to protect seniors from cuts to their social welfare programs (Social Security, Medicare).

What will Brown and his Democrat pals do when there is no money left for seniors?

He has said he is not an ideologue
and will do what is right for the people of Massachusetts.

Translation: He has no principles and will pander for votes.

“establish the wrong priorities that would disproportionately affect low-income families and seniors.”

Senator, it couldn't possibly be that "low-income families" are low income and multiple-familied because of their own laziness and irresponsibility, e.g. having more kids than they can afford, could it?????

I mean the purpose of cutting government is so that all of us face the truth about ourselves, is it not?

And it's not like entitlements could not be cut within all reason, for all healthy individuals and families under sixty seven years of age, No????

And it's not like every US citizen, every one, now knows how kids are created, by virtue of fifty years of public sex education, No????

Are you so phony you cannot even approach the fundamental questions of human life? I mean there are indeed truly ruthless scum operating in our nation confiscating our wealth, but most of which associate and manipulate our legislative bodies, No????

Maybe we should talk about "priorities."

Precisely, what I find the most surprising is that so many people who call themselves conservatives are actually surprised by Brown's liberalism.

I didn’t donate to “Mr. 41” either. Like I said on another thread, I truly feel bad for Freepers who gave to this douche. I still say my money is on that cute broad from ND to turn RINO and do a Scott Brown..

You're admitting it in public?

Your ability to accept ridicule has got to be better than the best.

We all make mistakes my FRiend.

I gave money to Michele Bachmann's election but that is a different story. ; )
