Only 25 years.
What a serious miscarriage of justice.

Rather light sentence, I think.

Muzzammil Hassan expressed deep regret as he was given the maximum sentence in Erie County court in Buffalo on Wednesday morning. Yes. I'm sure he deeply regrets having to go to prison.

So he’ll do 12 and a half for murdering his wife and mutilating her corpse?

Supposedly the channel was hear idea, and it was her head that rolled.

Cosmic irony.
“Together, the Hassans started the Muslim-oriented Bridges TV network as a way to counter negative media images of Muslims after 9/11 and build cultural understanding.”

25 to life is the max you can get in New York on a Murder 2. The Court of Appeals got rid of our Capital Murder statute, complete with death penalty a few years back. Same judge [Judy Kaye] did it to this statute, and the last one [when Cuomo, Sr. was the governor].
