Seeing red, PAC is down on Scott Brown
The Washington Times ^ | 01/31/11 | Jim McElhatton

The National Republican Trust spent nearly $100,000 last year to help Scott Brown win the U.S. Senate seat of the late Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, but now the conservative political group wishes it had that money back to help kick Mr. Brown out of office.

Lesson to be learned: He's a Massachusetts RINO, be very sure about these Northeasteners who call themselves "Conservative."

I was willing to give Brown a chance: I even donated money to him.

He can go it alone as far as I’m concerned. He has been a traitor to the conservative cause.

Yea, and replace him with...........? There were no surprises about Brown. If anyone had really thought he was going to be a rock solid conservative, they were not being realistic BUT I’ll take him, he will be better than any Massachusetts’ RAT.

Conservatives should be very careful about where they put their money.

Ditto, I want my campaign donation back! Brown is a "Kennedy", his name is just spelled a little differently.

So did I, in hopes that at least we'd have SOME level of advocacy on our side coming out of him. Seems to me he's been aligning himself with the dems more times than not.

Yes, I was too, and I understand-I gave a small contribution also. I was very eager for an anti-Kennedy, but look what we got, and I’m not from MA.

I think I donated something to him, too, and I'd do it again under the same circumstance. Who would have ever thought we'd see a Republican in Teddy Kennedy's seat?

I'll probably be willing to send him something again if I thought a RAT would defeat him.

This is a numbers game. A RINO is better than a RAT anyday. If we thought it possible to replace him with a solid conservative, I'd say go for it but until then.........

I donated money on several occasions to Scott Brown. I have been sorely disappointed. It seems that the only remotely Conservative position he had was opposition to Obamacare - which was a forgone conclusion by the time he was elected.

Same here. The wife and I worked very hard for him manning phones and carrying signs. Having demonstrated that he is not only not conservative, he has also shown that he's not all that intelligent. As far as we're concerned, Brown's on his own this time. Neither I nor our conservative friends will be supporting him. No more RINOs!

I got flamed by a FReeper as pro-illegal because I flamed Brown as a RINO some weeks ago.

FReeper wasn’t interested in what I had to say about sister and bil who had worked on his campaign having been sold a lie.

My family in MA are not happy right now.

Okay, but there is a bright side. He has forfeited any conservative financial support, but he is still a politically viable incumbent. The lefties will have to spend money and effort for a seat that they can normally ignore as safe.

republicans up in the north east are like Dems down here and there is certainly can’t be many conservatives up there.

Brown and all the others will never get any of my money unless they propose to build a wall along the potomac and stop moving down here with their ignorant socially and fiscally liberal votes and minds.

Being conservative means fiscally and yes SOCIALLY.

"He has been a traitor to the conservative cause."
Jeez...he never was a conservative, never pretented to be one...he was the absolute best we could have hoped for from a solid lib state...cutting him down and lambasting him will get a dem in his seat next election cycle...better to quietly find someone a little more conservative than him and sneak them in.....shout conservative from on high in massachusetts, and you surely will be toast...just sayin'

They all should get their conservative rising star ready to take on Kerry. Oh, there is no conservative rising star in Massachusee?

Brown will kick himself out of office.

He thinks he can run to the center in Massachusetts? No way. The Democrats have been planning 24/7 to take back “Teddy’s Seat” and Brown is going to lose all the Republicans and independents that voted for him.
