A video is being widely circulated showing a shirtless boy receiving secondary screening from a Transportation Security Officer (TSO). A passenger filmed the screening with their cell phone and posted the video on the web. Many are coming to their own conclusions about what's happening in the video which is now perched at the top of the Drudge report and being linked to in many other blogs and tweets. We looked into this to find out what happened.
On November 19, a family was traveling through a TSA checkpoint at the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Their son alarmed the walk through metal detector and needed to undergo secondary screening. The boy's father removed his son's shirt in an effort to expedite the screening. After our TSO completed the screening, he helped the boy put his shirt back on. That's it. No complaints were filed and the father was standing by his son for the entire procedure.
It should be mentioned that you will not be asked to and you should not remove clothing (other than shoes, coats and jackets) at a TSA checkpoint. If you're asked to remove your clothing, you should ask for a supervisor or manager.

The fact the father felt that disrobing his son would help expedite the process IS A PROBLEM.

The problem is this secondary screening process, and the policies enacted in it. It's a child. Yes, it's possible the child could be carrying for someone else, but it isn't worth the trauma to thousands of children just because something is possible.
And above all, no police officer would be permitted to conduct that type of search on a little child. Why would we permit those who have less authority, less training, and less answering to the public conduct searches a police officer is forbidden to do?
Since I have a hip implant, I set off alarms and require the pat down. Legal question, isn’t it a violation of HIPA to have to give personel medical information to non medical agency? Isn’t it profiling to force a class of people to be patted down?
The bottom line is that the American people should not be put in a position where they feel they have to strip their children for fear of federal nazicrats. If the nazicrats can force this kind of supine behavior on average citizens at the airport, it will soon move outside of the airport into the streets, and then into our homes. Authoritarianism invariably comes in at a crawl, not a gallop.
Notice how cold and unfeeling the head of the T-SS-A is when interviewed either by the press of members of Congress. Adolf Eichmann could not have been anymore coldly detached and authoritarian.

Does it not occur to him that this little boy needn't be searched? If we used profiling, the kid doesn't fit.
I sincerely hope that so much stink is made that the machines and groping will be gone.
All I have to say is.....not my kid! They can go after the ones that are really a threat to us.

The only reason the boy doesn’t fit the profile is because he was not travelling with Muslim parents.

Oh yeah. If you haven’t checked out the “TSA Blog”, you should stop by for a look. They say that they haven’t gotten a rise in complaints since they put the new “procedures” in place. Yet, go check out some of “Bob’s” postings. There are HUNDREDS of irate complaints for every topic he puts up. And those are only the ones that he doesn’t delete before seeing the light of day. He has a “Delete o Meter” and it was running in the thousands last time I looked.
Not only that, but his topics are vile propaganda. An example: he has a “myths” posting. The second “myth” listed is that the “enhanced pat downs are invasive”. The “fact” that goes along with it says NOTHING about how invasive they are. It just makes an argument that “very few” are selected for the pat down.
I’m telling you: it’s worth a look. It would be comical, if the situation weren’t so dire.
In Green Bay, Wis screeners will not accept the photos of x-rays of screws and plates and yes shrapnel fragments.
I have been repeatedly informed when flying the photos of the plates and screws these are not acceptable any longer. you will be subjected to bodily exam.
Hold on here. an examination to determine whether or not I have taken the time to implant foreign substances into the body other than what the advances of medical interventions have occurred. ENOUGH of this. It is humilitating to have someone whom is considered an entry levelposition to scrutnize the need for advanced medical implants and to say he must scrutnize them some more.

IMHO Obama and the TSA need to be figuratively crucified on this.And it needs to happen ASAP. Custodial janitors without the status of law enforcement have no business violating the 4th amendment rights of Americans, perpetrating warrantless searches on us with no probable cause, all because the president has an ideology that classifies profiling and intelligence data as racist?
I say we get them now, and lay them low.Call it a pre-emptive strike. Call on all TSA workers to go on strike or resign for being required to perpetrate these crimes against innocent Americans.
Call for the impeachment and resignation of Obama, Napolitano and Holder. Pistole is being offered as a sacrificial lamb.His head is not enough.He will be replaced by someone worse.
Only those who fit the terrorst middle eastern profile should be required to be scanned or patted down. All of this search and assault crime by TSA is being perpetrated to avoid that strategic requirement. This idoicy will also guarantee that a terrorist attack over the holidays will be successful.SHAME!
This crime is not only wrong, it is designed to cover Obamas A$$ should an attack be successful, while guranteeing the success of an attack ( We can absorb an attack....Obama......we did all we could etc.....).
This is very serious business. The lives of many Americans depend on our turning this back to real security based on profiling and intel. The people's safety needs to trump presidential fascist political correctness.Right NOW there is no airport security.The gates are wide open for terrorists to succeed, a point lost on most in this scuffle.Get adults back in charge of the security of America.
