Is John Culberson Presidential Material? (Vanity)
MSNBC | 11/15/2010 | Self

Posted on 11/15/2010 2:48:54 PM PST by library user

I was channel surfing about 15 minutes ago and caught a heated debate between John Culberson (R-TX) and Loretta Sanchez (on MSNBC).

I had never heard of John before, but he was mopping the floor with Loretta (read: TOTALLY PW3N'ing her) and communicated his points well. All Ms. Sanchez did was blame Bush.

Is Culberson an option for President in 2012? Don't know really much about his background (perhaps some long-term FReepers, particularly those in his district, could chime in.)

Thanks for your input. And if the video gets uploaded at NewsBusters or YouTube, I will post a direct link to it here.

If Obama, Kerry, and Gore are presidential material, I guess Culberson is. But that is a very low standard. Ted Poe would be far better.

I’m a 6th generation Texan and have lived in the state most of my life—but I’ve never heard of this guy. Guess he doesn’t make many waves.

Lawrence O’Donnell yells at Rep. John Culberson, accusing him of lying to America: “You lie to America about the evil of government health care…”

After being interrupted and being accused of lying repeatedly, the Congressman said “You’re illustrating why MSNBC’s viewership is in the tank…”

Just wait til I find the video. Hope you will watch it.

I don’t usually recommend videos, but I thought this one was classic.

Anybody can stand in the basement and yell about stuff. See how he does it when people are paying attention.

John Culberson served for years in the Texas Legislature before going to Washington in 2001. He is a long time friend whom I personally think would make a GREAT president but that’s because I don’t mind - in fact I like it a LOT - the fact that he talks VERY straight! Ask John a question and you will get the answer as he knows it without any varnish at all.

That is NOT a quality that endears him to some people and would drive the MSM in this country ABSOLUTELY nuts! Besides that, John doesn’t have anywhere near the personal wealth necessary to undertake such a venture.

I live in Michigan. I only know Rep. Culberson because of some small help I gave him in his efforts a couple of years ago to defeat Bush's immigration sham.

He is a Jeffersonian Republican, and adores Jefferson. He is right on the mark politically for this conservative, somewhat libertarian person. His beliefs would make him a great president, but I'm unsure if he wants to leave his district (in Houston) and be more of a politician.

Can you tell I love the guy?

His brother, Jim, is a political official in Brevard/Indian River County, Florida. They are both solid Conservative Republicans.

He's my Congressman, and he's a solid Conservative and would make an outstanding President.

That said...he hasn't a snowball's chance in h@ll of being elected President.

That's a quote I was required to memorize in HS English class.
The import of which is that there ain't no such thing as a level playing field. America is full of adults over the age of 35 who would be a better POTUS than the present incumbent - but none of them are POTUS. Most of us never had a serious chance at it.

Have always found him to be rock solid and unwavering. Not ever questioned how he would vote on an issue. Would really like to see him run for Governor next time. That way we can keep him in Texas.

John Culberson is my congressman, and he is a straight down the line conservative. I don’t think you could ask for anything better in a representative.

I subscribe to his youtube channel and just watched it. Loretta Sanchez is a twit.
