Dear Mr Boehner, I grew up just a few towns away from you and you were a year ahead of me in high school. From one Ohio Baby Boomer to another, here's what I wish for our new House...
1. DO NOT bailout California, New York or any other state stupid enough to put Democrats back in power. Or any other state period.
2. Repeal Obamacare. Again and again and again and again, etc.
3. Repeal Financial Reform. No President should have to power to close any business he chooses.
3. Sell GM, Fannie and Freddie and any other institution that Obama took over. The Government shouldn't own businesses at all.
4. Put the Student Loans back into the banks.
That's just a start. I'll be checking back in from time to time with more great ideas to put the USA back on a stabile footing.
Thanks, Originalbuckeye
Amen. Amen.
DO NOT BAILOUT CALIFORNIA! (OR ILLINOIS, NEW YORK, ETC.)
Make the Bush tax cuts permanent.
Secure the border.
Make the Bush tax cuts permanent.
Secure the border.
Do it NOW before Nancy Pelosi can ram through more spending or cuts to our freedom in the lame duck session.
More Amens here.
Dear Congressman Boehner,
I wish you would step aside and help Eric Cantor become Speaker of the House. We don’t need or want inside-the-beltway, out-of-touch, plastic elitists running the government. You’re in the way.
Sincerely,
Larry - Moe and Curly
CA must utterly collapse. NO BAIL OUT!! ZERO!!! NOTHING!!!! Let them lay in the steaming pile of Ignorance they just crapped into office!
MA, CT, DE, I will not be vacationing anywhere within your borders anytime soon. Enjoy your tax rates. Freepers who live there, my condolences.
5. Continually remind people of the principles and documents this country was founded upon. Continually explain to them how we have gone off track. Explain to them what the job of the federal government is. Continually work to repair the damage done over the years. Explain to them step-by-step what you are doing and why you are doing it and ask for their support. Keep them posted on your progress.
Cut spending!!!!! Cut!!!!
Buck, the nicest thing we can do for Mr. B is ask him to replace himself as Speaker. Threaten him with an intervention.
Cut spending, cut taxes, cut the size of government and cut the federal reserve out of existence.
I wish they would stop presuming as Speaker of the House.
Yes, Rush has been hammering this as well. Use your majority to TEACH PEOPLE.
The one bright spot in the California race is realizing that Moonbeam will be at the helm when the California ship goes down. I think everyone knows it MUST hit bottom if it is ever going to be rehabilitated.

Compare their records. This is no time to bash Boehner. Eric Cantor is his ‘whip’ - let both get on with the immense challenges ahead. At this time, Boehner knows where the DemocRATS are weak and Cantor can burnish his bona fides.
No more voting machines. Paper ballots only. Receipts, or better yet, copy of ballot given to voter. Photo I.D. required to vote in all Federal elections. No more Absentee voting (with the exception of the military and government employees based overseas). No more early voting.
And one more thing; All bills will be specific to one, and only one, item. No more stuffing the bills with BS.
Oh, oh, oh, just one more; No more earmarks.
Allow these funds to be repatriated with a tax rate of 5 or 10 percent, coupled with accelerated depreciation on said monies, if used to purchase capital goods, or real estate for domestic expansion.
This will bring in 50 to 100 billion in tax revenues to the treasury, that we otherwise wouldn't collect, while creating untold numbers of jobs. Win Win.
The government now owns about a third of the land in the continental US, sell off some to private interests to help balance the budget. May I recommend we begin with the huge Grand Staircase Escalante tract in Utah, plenty of low sulphur coal there.
Cantor isn’t as Conservative as you might think. I still prefer him to any Progressive, but sometimes he says something that just seems, well, off the mark.
He is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, has attended at least one Bilderberg conference that I know of, and definitely does not like the Tea Party folks.
He may have reasons for being a member of the CFR, and even attended the Bilderberg conference out of curiosity. But his statements aren’t consistently Conservative and sometimes, when talking about the Tea Party people, he sounds condescending and elitist.
Boehner, I believe, won’t take crap from Obama now that he’s going to be Speaker of the House. He now has power that he’s never had before, and that makes a tremendous difference in how he will deal with Democrats. This man worked his way up the hard way from nothing and I doubt he will kowtow to any elites, Conservative or Progressive.
Defund Obamacare if nothing else. And whatever you do, tell the Rinos who are being protective of socialized medicine to sit down and shut up. Start with Karl Rove. He is going full tilt socialist/Rino and is trying to wreck the conservative mandate you have gotten in this election. There is no tweaking that monster of abuse.
Americans were not kidding when they formed the Tea Party. They do not want Obamacare in any way, shape or form.
What do we cut? Everyone wants to cut spending, but no one wants their benefits cut—they want someone else’s cut. Sure we can cut welfare, but that’s small change. What about social security? Are you for cutting that? What about defense? What about Medicare and Medicaid? What about military pensions? What about government pensions generally?
I say cut social security benefits starting ten years in the future, giving time for those people to plan to deal with the cuts. Ditto for miitary and other government pensions, which have gotten way out of hand. Cut defense 40%. Cut medicare and medicaid by allowing Americans to buy their drugs at pharmacies without a doctor’s prescription, the way much of the world does already. Also double the number of doctors by building twice the number of medical schools so competition comes back into the practice of medicine. Eliminate crop subsidies. Let farmers learn to be capitalists. Of course, this is just for starters.
