Ex-cop sentenced for soliciting sex from boys By Joseph A. Slobodzian

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

A former Philadelphia police officer who admitted soliciting sex from teenage boys was sentenced today by a Philadelphia judge to 11-1/2 to 23 months in prison.

Adrian Makuch, 50, pleaded guilty March 11 to unlawful contact with a minor for prostitution, luring a child into a motor vehicle and patronizing prostitutes.

Makuch, a 22-year veteran of the police department, the last eight with the Crime Scene Unit, apologized to those he solicited and said it was "an uncalled-for action. Had I realized they were that young I would never have approached."

Makuch has been in prison since his guilty plea when Common Pleas Court Judge Karen Shreeves-Johns revoked his $20,000 bail.

After he gets out of prison, Makuch will be on seven years of reporting probation, required to undergo sex offender counseling, and prohibited from any unsupervised contact with minors, the judge ruled.

Makuch was arrested and terminated in December after a yearlong Internal Affairs investigation. The investigation began after a 15-year-old boy from the Northeast told police that Makuch asked if he would pose for nude photos.

Makuch was arrested after he solicited sex from a 22-year-old undercover police officer posing as a 17-year-old.

Brotherly love, but not sisterly, evidently.

Or maybe they’ll offer him all the “gay sex” he wants and a lot he doesn’t want too.

Looking at the age differential, perhaps it's grandfatherly...

This is developing to much of an "Ick" factor.

Yuk! This reminds me of Ginsburg wanting to reduce the age of consent laws to 12.

America could do far worse than to make MARRIAGE at biblical ages possible (with the marriage coming before the sex). Children should still be protected from adults who would fool around with them sexually in an extramarital or perverted manner.

I suppose it all has to do with education—and I do not mean the “public school” type which creates spoiled narcissists who can’t function at any job. I think of who I would have picked if I married at 18 instead of at 22 and I do cringe. Life experiences are so narrow until a person is working and out on their own. I was so naive at 18.

THe matchmaker role figured more prominently in biblical societies than it did today. Parents and close relatives were intimately involved in setting up the match. Also unskilled or semi skilled labor from an early age were commmon. Given that, still shouldn’t Americans have the choice to do what did not offend God, perhaps with the consent of both sets of parents.

The local Boy Scouts should take this story to their next city council meeting and ask,”Why do you think we don’t allow gays as leaders? Maybe because if you can’t trust a cop who can you trust?”

I saw it referred to as "Filthadelphia" recently.
Appropriate.

GOLD MINE! When educating the public about the sexual degeneracy of the homosexual lifestyle, their ears "perk up" even more when they find out that children are part of the game plan.

Thanks for the link!

Statistics based on news reports of officer misconduct indicate that cops are about three times more likely than the general public to commit a crime that is sexual in nature.

Don't know why that is, but it's telling about the profession because the percentage of cops accused of simple assault is not terribly anomalous from the general population.

I'd trust a normal civilian on just about anything before I'd trust a cop. Cops have a bad track record on crimes that are sexual in nature, and commit them about 3 times the rate of the general population. It probably has something to do with them being in a position of power and authority, and the type of people that jobs like that attract.

On a much smaller but more pronounced scale, they're probably similar to politicians, who are also well known for their disproportionately frequent sexual deviancy.

That is why I can not tolerate the glorification of that lifestyle by government laws. It is built upon the emotional damage of children. We should have compassion for homosexuals, yes, but never sanction their behavior.

The sexual identity of a child has been “perverted” into something that nature never meant it to be and leads to a nihilism and sexual degeneracy of all kinds because there is no restraint or repression of the sexual instinct which is necessary in a civil society. I do not want to raise my children in Sodom.
