Yeah, I changed my mind on Steele. I say give him a chance.
Many people are a little too anxious to see him go for
what I consider a ‘gaffe’

Nah, I’d rather have Romney as RNC Chairperson.

Steele does not deserve to get fired for the most sensible thing he, or any other RNC chair, has said. Agreed! He made a valid point and the media jumped on it. Then the other Republicans, even Newt, jumped on him for saying we could not win that war in Afghanistan. However, he was speaking at a Republican fund raiser, part of his job, and was telling the Republicans that since it is not winnable in the traditional sense why not let Obama have it! That would prevent the Democrats from continually hanging the war around Bush's neck every time something went bad, as it always will.
The idea of Palin in that spot is ludicrous. Palin doesn't need to be pigeonholed. She needs to be free to do her thing, whatever that may be, in her own time frame.

This "Palin for RNC" thing has the odious stench of a two-fer for the statists. In one move they create a campaign issue (racist Republicans dismiss a black guy) AND marginalize their greatest adversary, Sarah. Best for all conservatives is to just chuckle and let this die.

I really like Sarah but she has no business taking the RNC chair, it is a dead end job for her and one the insiders want her to take to get her out of the Presidential race(2012).

NOPE. Putting her in the chair of the RNC is a way for establishment GOP’s to fence her in and silence her. You can tell she’s having a REAL effect on American politics. Look how many people and organizations want to clip her wings.

I've tempered my objections to Michael Steele but I still think he is the wrong person for the job he holds, and this despite any reservations about his recent comments regarding the war in Afghanistan.
That stated, I don't want to see Sarah Palin as RNC chairman. Previous posters have explained why. Suffice it to say that I agree with them. I doubt she'd be interested, anyway.
Sarah Palin is in a unique position, now. Her mere presence on the national scene drives liberals into extreme rages and helps show their hatefulness and contempt for middle America, which Palin - like it or not - represents. She has great fund raising abilities and keeps Obama's 'feet to the fire'. She doesn't need the RNC chairmanship.

I can’t think of a worse idea than to try to drag our next president down to this absurd level.
