It's a shame that only one kitten survived, but I have no doubt that Alley will be a blessing to whatever family adopts her.

Beautiful girl kitten! She will be a wonderful addition to the family Alley. :)=^..^=
Here sibblings and the kittens from the other litter that did not survive will have her back from the Rainbow Bridge place. :)=^..^=
So sad they did not survive.

Yeah, kind of a tortoiseshell/calico and "smoky" mix. love both the torties and the calicos. The torties especially seem to have an in-built sass or attitude(in a good way of course!).

"That makes two of us! I've had three wonderful torties, and have never been without one since 1976. I remember when one of my girls "objected" to her rabies injection at the vet's office. She sent the syringe flying across the room and bolted for the safety of the top of a cabinet. The vet was very good natured about it. He just chuckled and remarked that torties tend to be "full of piss and vinegar". She was sweet as the day was long, but plenty of spark too.
Our current tortie and her calico sister are feral rescue kitties. They've made wonderful pets - very sweet.

Little Girl’s lucky...1) She survived an attack by an A-hole, 2) She loves her people and 3) she is a major league cutie pie! Check out those eye markings....

Yesterday my granddaughter and I were picking cherries and heard a wren going nuts from the neighboring apple tree. We went over and the bird house had fallen. There were two new hatchlings lying on the ground next to it. We both know not to pick up baby birds but these little things would have had no chance so I gently picked each one up, dropped it back in the house, and wedged the house in a crook in the tree and we went away. Yesterday evening I looked out the window and there was the wren hopping in. I figure that had they died, she would not have been going into the house. Good lesson for my little one. Babies have an amazing ability to survive. Good to hear this story this morning.

I like to think that people who do this kind of thing to cats come back reincarnated as small prey animals...
I have had to euthanize cats and horses, but I have always taken care to have this done humanely and painlessly. Abandoning an inconvenient animal qualifies one for a special place in hell.

Of course she survived — she’s my namesake :)

A guy with a pitpull was bragging that he let his dog pick up my favorite feral ---but friendly--- kitty and shake it...it was still alive and the guy threw in the dumpster. I found out afterwards....he really needs to die after watching his dog suffer. Wish he was worth going to jail for.

Whew! One life down and eight to go. Here’s hoping that they’re all very, very happy ones for such a sweet little baby girl.
