It's handgun control in the extreme.
A Michigan kindergartener's make-believe gun - which he created with just his fingers - got him suspended, the Grand Rapids Press reported.
Mason Jammer, 6, who attends Ionia's Jefferson Elementary School, pointed his finger-gun at a fellow student Wednesday and got kicked out of school till Friday.
School officials said they had given Mason numerous warnings over several months, and his gun play created discomfort for other kids.
Mason's mom said the suspension is "too harsh" for a young boy.
"He's only six, and he doesn't understand any of this," said Erin Jammer, who suggested there were more fitting punishments. "Maybe what you could do is take his recess away."
Mason doesn't even have toy guns at home, said his mom. "He's six, and he just likes to play," said Jammer.

What gives???
Well, it looks like a situation where a mischievous little kid went out of his way to annoy classmates over a period of months. This isn’t even close to the same tier as the “zero tolerance” nonsense we see nowadays. In older days they might have ended this with a couple of flat wooden swats to the rear of his pants.
When “hand guns” are outlawed, only outlaws will have hands.
No doubt if it were the "middle finger salute" it would have been discussed with fervor in class.
Isn’t that what W.J. Clinton did in his famous, “I did not have sex with that woman” speech?
A-S-S-I-N-E. Plain and simple.
At least they didn’t go into lock-down.
assine?
One word from his father could have handled it.
pointed his finger-gun at a fellow student Wednesday and got kicked out of school till Friday. ............................. INSANITY!!!! If they did that when I was in school in the 1940’s no one would be left to attend the school. Most of you folks didn’t go through school in the 40’s and 50’s, if you did, you would wish they were back today.
Discomfort? Because of a gun formed with a kid's hand?
What a bunch of little pansies the liberals are raising these days.
I know the kind of finger I’d give these pedants.
“Bang, bang Susie” is cute for maybe a recess time. It gets real old after several months.
I would never have made it through school, because at his age, we played army everyday *(even shot BB guns.)
Guess school kids can’t make the Obama sign with their fingers, either. It’s an extended third finger pointing up.
He must be emulating (the late) Paul Newman.
Schools are twisted places these days.
My sister went to a basketball game at our old school a week or so back and was horrified at the behavior of the home crowd. Booing the visiting team as they entered the gym is bad enough but she said this also extended to the visiting spectators. Screaming in their faces as they tried to watch the game, crowding them as if they were attempting to intimidate them. She said it was disgusting behavior that would have never been tolerated when I was in school. Seems that there may have also been some vandalism of visiting spectator’s cars.
The worst part is that teachers seemed to be taking part in the bad behavior. Only one teacher spoke up and he’s an old school teacher from my day. Back when I was in school the coach would have forfeit the game for that kind of behavior in the stands.
Today we worry about a young child playing gun with his finger instead.
Had the kid pointed the middle finger he would have probably gotten an A+.
Time is drawing near for a liberal slap down.
